why would the word be 'sword' its boring, surely it has to be something more exotic?

I hope the two dragon riders are Sansa and Arya. how cool is that.

Figgy - I don't know. I assume it would be something to do with asking for a warriors death or, as Beric kept doing, trial by battle.

What would have Ned and/or Robert have done with King Aerys if they had been in Jaime's place? They, and pretty much everyone else, seem to give him a hard time calling him Kingslayer. But what would have been their ideal solution? They never seem to offer one, or at least it hasn't come up.

Another unrelated question: I like how the chapters focus on a certain character's point of view, but do we ever get two points of view from the same event?

Battle of blackwater gets Tyrion and the Onion Knight...never can quite remember his name. But they never meet.

Robert would have butchered Aerys and probably most of the other Targs himself if he had the chance.  The babies might have been too much for him, even though he didn't mind other people killing them.  I think what offended people most about the murder of Aerys (or at least, what offended people like Ned, with his fixation on honor) was that Jaime had sworn to protect the king.  Then again, all the other lords had sworn fealty to the king too, but the Kingsguard's obligations went above and beyond that.

I think Ned probably would have tossed Aerys in prison and put him on trial for something, but that's really just speculation.

A couple come to mind.  In AFFC/ADWD, we see Jon and Sam's farewell scene from both points of view, first with Sam in AFFC where he's a POV character, then with Jon in ADWD where Sam doesn't appear outside that one scene.  Also, we know from the preview chapters for The WInds of Winter that

So basically Robert just wanted to do it himself, and Ned is Mr. Goody-Two-Shoes.

You should brush up on your Westerosi heraldry, Petty.  Then you can just associate people's usernames with the name of the House they're representing. Nod

NB I kind of like how my face in the Forumshire vids is still almost always the anime character who I used as an avatar for the first year or so on here, even though I've been changing my avatar a fair bit lately.  I feel like that image represents my persona on here. Laughing

I love the names that George RR Martin comes up with. He lists so many during the Hand's Tourney, it's insane.

Oh, and now that most of us have declared a house, you will all bend the knee or be destroyed. Nod
