I was really excited for How To Train Your Dragon 2, until they relesed a trailer that gave away the whole fupping plot.
Don't even want to see it now.

Yep, there's video too. The raccoon was attacking a guy's dog.

I haven't seen the first HTTYD but I read the book ages ago. Should I pass on watching this trailer then?

Raccoon ! I thought it was a cat
I agree with Bungo, seems to be the fashion now to tell the audience every bloody thing that goes on in a film, so, whats left when you go see it ? Price of the ticket I guess. Its like going on a hot date & finding out the guy's gay

Yes, do not watch this trailer. See the first movie, and never think about there being a sequel, it doesn't look as good.

In Eldos gif I think that is a cat- a fake cat I trust!
But its a racoon in the gif for the film. A racoon and what looks suspiciously like an ent.

Re: Future releases [2]
Interesting that The Room seems to be a somewhat common topic these days. That movie came out in 2003!
That GotG gif looks kind of lame. What is the tree guy's function there, exactly, besides acting as a perch for the Raccoon?
(Btw, the tree guy's name is Groot and the raccoon is Rocket Raccoon [inspired by the Beatles' song "Rocky Raccoon].)
Re: raccoon attacking dog, how do we know the dog didn't attack first raccoon isn't defending itself? Dogs often bite off more than they can chew:
Also, that dude's sure got stones to pick up a live raccoon.

It didn't really seem like a badass wild animal-fighting sort of dog, but if it was my pet I'd intervene on his behalf even if he had started it.
Also, that dude's sure got stones to pick up a live raccoon.
Seriously.
Re: Future releases [2]
Oh, I'm not knocking the guy for pulling the raccoon off (and the raccoon was an intruder, after all), I'm just a bit skeptical that the raccoon invaded the property to attack the dog, which doesn't seem very likely (vicious little bastards though 'coons can be).
I do also wonder why the guy went after the raccoon instead of closing that gate.

It's just test footage. I doubt it will be in the film, but Groot does help Rocky Raccoon get around. I think it looks pretty BAMF.
And this is the first time I've been excited for a Marvel movie, so I hope it will be good.

Re: Future releases [2]
Fair enough. I'm kind of interested, I guess, but I'm surprised Marvel Studios is already planning a sequel.

I think they were planning an Avengers sequel before the first one even came out. They've had all this stuff planned for a while.

Re: Future releases [2]
Is this the film that will have a baldy headed Karen Gillan donning a leather cat suit as the baddie?

Karen Gilian is in it, and I'm pretty sure she's bald...but I don't know about a cat suit.

Re: Future releases [2]
True, but there's Avengers, a popular title which was being strongly foreshadowed with all those other movies, and then there's GotG, which is not as popular, doesn't seem to have any apparent ties to anything (other than the studio) and takes place in outer space and in the future. I guess planning isn't the same as shooting though.bungobaggins wrote:I think they were planning an Avengers sequel before the first one even came out. They've had all this stuff planned for a while.

Re: Future releases [2]
They'll probably make an Avengers/Guardians crossover.
And the fact that GotG is different and filled with heroes I'm not familiar with is exactly why I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Future releases [2]
Still waiting on someone to have the guts to turn Grant Morrisons Doom Patrol run into a film, or tv series.
A comic where even the superhero HQ is a sentient travelling transvestite street called Danny, now thats original.
"He is a sentient street who is able to place himself anywhere around the world. Danny lets the people tossed out by society have a place to rest. He entertains them with drag shows and various shops. Danny is a transvestite and enjoys expressing himself by putting pink, frilly awnings or curtains on gun stores and the like. "- wiki

Re: Future releases [2]
DC is still trying to match Marvel with its own shared universe concept and has barely gotten off the ground. Doom Patrol will have to wait a bit

No, but I've heard about it. I've read a few issues of his Animal Man.

I liked his Animal man too, overall, he made the characters must more rounded but its enviro messages were a bit in your face for my liking.
There is a comic thread with some good stuff on it, even though its mainly me talking to myself

I remember one bit from AM, how the character wondered why he should be able to fly when he was near a bird, finally asking the same question practically anyone reading the comic book was asking till that time
