Oh Bungo -- I've finished for now -- you can have your thread back --- until next time, that is....

Wow, those were great, Orwell! Your voice is awesome, you go from sounding like Johnny Cash to James Taylor in your songs, I love it So cool to see the man behind the avatar sing and play the guitar, I never knew you did that. Great lyrics in that first one, did you write it yourself? {{{{I don't doubt that you did, I know you're a talented writer, just curious }}}} You should put a melody to some of Wisey's old poems and record them, that would be fantastic!

Yep, my work. I'm going to do both songs again, I think. But be a bit better organized next time. New song (Reconciliation) still getting feel for, and an old song (Margarita) that I was a bit rusty with - that's my excuse!
Just for your delight, here's another one. Performance (with new guitar strings + pick) a bit smoother (?) I think. (Still one take - I like adventures!) (Hot off the press, too!) I've also had a shower... Do I look a bit fresher than on the earlier ones? You know I do....
[
and this one came through as I was going to get the one above!
I could keep doing this for ever.... and knowing me -- probably will.
As to Wisey's words... maybe sometime --- actually Wisey and I got together for something for a certain Awards Show coming up --- in cahoots with an Anonymous Scotshobbit who shall remain nameless in fact.
{{{psst Ringo - it's Petty! }}}
{{{Petty - not happening. The other vid! I'll see later as I said and try again. Maybe I'll just do a live recording again and try to do the .. you know... the performance you requested ( ). I think I can with a bit of practice. I am an artiste, after all. }}}

People are almost always interested, we just don't always post replies. The secret is to do your own thing and hope for the occasional bit of appreciation, which fires you up for the next ten (or more) things you post. It's Forumshire, my friend. Hooray!
I see you did not comment on my artistry! I say - if that's not a case in point, I surely don't know what is?
{{{And you did say we could use your thread! }}}

So, your wife,Orwell, (Im guessing your married ??) Is she called Martha ?
Does this song not make her think...."hang on ?!"
The 2nd one was well worded but a little sad ?

Funnily, I was sitting in my back yard under the pergola and my Missus was bustling around in the late afternoon doing things that could easily have been done tomorrow - or never! - and I was thinking, why can't she be like Mary Magdalene and come and sit at my feet so I could run my fingers through her hair (I would have been happy enough to sit at her feet and wash them with my hair - when I had more hair, that is!) So Martha and Mary could very well be the same person - one bothered too much with pretty inconsequential things, while the other knew what was important - her man (and vice versa). There is a peculiar intimacy about that Jesus/Mary/Martha scene in the New Testament. Where these ideas come from, I don't know for sure, but I thought something close to, "She's like Martha'!" And it was a revelation. How these things turn into songs, I have no real idea, but I often go with things that pop into my febrile brain. Do it and don't think too much! Though I may have been strumming my guitar at the time - can't remember now. I'm really proud of the song. First time I've played it for anyone though -- wrote it on my birthday on 26/11/2011. Maybe that's why I thought it would have been nice if the Missus had come and sat with me and kicked back. Like I said - can't remember, but I vaguely remember being annoyed. In the end, I hope you liked it. I hasten to add - it was momentary thought that inspired a song. Sometimes my Missus is Mary too.
The other one is personal too. I thought it both sad and happy. I mean, the guy's appreciating his woman and that maybe that she was the best dream he ever had - his other dreams - however alluring - may not have been that great a loss in relative terms. Women are a blessing and a curse, what! {{{But in the case of my woman, mainly a blessing - but I didn't say that, do you hear! I have to preserve my manly reputation - and manly men don't say things like that about their women - and don't you forget it! }}}

On a strictly bi-curious note, you do look a bit fresher.. }}}}
Keep the songs coming, these are great too I've always been a fan of music where there's just a guitar and a voice, very easy and calming to listen to. One of the best concerts I've been to was in London where Kris Kristofferson sat alone in the middle of Royal Albert Hall with his guitar and just played song after song. Very special experience that was, 5000 people listening to one man playing guitar and singing

I'm seeing this chance to record songs on Youtube as kind of emancipating. I have a lot of songs and the thought of them never being recorded as kind of sad. Song writing has been with me a long time, shame not to do something with them. One day my kids might take some interest and look them up on Youtube (Futuretube?) or my grand kids might one day look them up when doing their family history? I'm quite surprised how reasonable the video and sound quality is on my mobile telephone btw! This technology thing is amazing, really. Someone should have thought it up thirty years ago!
And isn't it great Bungo invited me to take over his thread....
