I didn't see an established music thread in the creative corner. So I'll try making one.

Tonight I threw caution to the wind and took a stab at arranging the Breaking Bad theme song for piano (it's been a long time since I did any arranging or composing, and I want to try to get back into it). It's a little rough around the edges. It's hard to capture the essence of the original theme without having the guitar and the electronics and so forth. The original layers another instrument after each phrase, if I did that here it wouldn't have been pretty.  But I tried to follow the original's overall sense of building up to the end.

But what did you play it on? As it sounds like a proper piano and not a synth piano.

Not sure how you got the scrolling, are you using Sibelius?

I used to do some arranging/composing, but not enough time now.   And once you don't practice much, and are in an apartment situation, you just don't feel like annoying the neighbors with the clodhopping, so it turns into a vicious spiral.

It's not me playing. It's actually a midi piano from the music software I use. I would record it myself, but I don't have proper recording equipment. I could do requests, as long as they aren't gigantic projects.

Not sure how you got the scrolling, are you using Sibelius?

I use Finale 2011. First I exported the audio file, and saved the document as a pdf, then took screen shots of it. Then I put everything (the screenshots and audio file) into iMovie where I just lined everything up with the audio file, so it gives the illusion of scrolling.

I've been thinking a lot lately about Australian Aboriginals, and about Ozhobbits of European stock and what our place is on this vast continent --- (oh yes... and thinking about women... that goes without saying...   ) --- and this came out. It's new and it was recorded just after I got up yesterday morning, and it's recorded in one take onto my mobile phone.... So, yes, it's rough and ready... but it gives a good idea about the song... Interested to know what you you guys think...

I think you got me just at that right time of the night, I like the easy,laid back sound of your voice. Verses were relaxing & the chorus tempo picked up nicely, I listened with my eyes shut,which I feel is best way to do if someone wants an opinion. Reminded me of Mick Jagger "Goddess in the Doorway" album......
