From my understanding the Azanulbizar stuff will be more oriented to Thrain and what happened to him this time around. Still seems pretty pointless to me. But who knows Jackson must have a reason right for rehashing everything 12 different times and still pushing the same tired old material at us over and over again. What that reason is I don't have a clue They need to stretch the films out to fill 3 because that is surely a cash cow waiting to be milked is the only thing I can come up with. At least I don't have to pay to see it

In LOTR were there multiple flashbacks to the same events in different films?
I wouldn't count the scene with Elrond and Isildur, because it's in the same movie as the original Last Alliance scene. The flashback at the beginning of TTT doesn't count because it's a flashback to an event that wasn't a flashback.

I believe that shot from Dale was in the first film, but I do agree about that battle-scene: it would appear to be Anazalbuzurburbrumbaz (sp?).
Some Dain might be nice! He was sorely missing the first time around; who knows!

Thing is funny as that is, and QI always is, it belies a sad fact about Scotland for a long time- we actively tried to get rid of our own accents, to get rid of Scots as a language for a very long time.
Even when I was a kid we used to get told off all the time for using Scots instead of English- the belief was if you sounded too Scottish, if you spoke Scots instead of English you wouldn't be able to get on in the UK- your job prospects ect would be curbed. So we used to quite literally have it knocked out of us.
For me it marked a low point in Scottish self confidence.
Even when I was a kid we used to get told off all the time for using Scots instead of English- the belief was if you sounded too Scottish, if you spoke Scots instead of English you wouldn't be able to get on in the UK- your job prospects ect would be curbed. So we used to quite literally have it knocked out of us.
For me it marked a low point in Scottish self confidence.
