Odin's fabulous grey horse Sleipnir was like no other. This is the eight-legged horse could run twice as fast as ordinary steeds, and it is he who carries the valiant dead from the battle field to Valhalla.

Sleipnir was the offspring of a giant's magical stallion and the "trickster" god, Loki, who disguised himself as an alluring mare to distract the stallion from aiding a giant with the task of building a wall around Asgard, home of the Gods. If the wall had been completed by a certain date, Freyja, the goddess of beauty, war and sexuality would have been forfeit to the giant as payment for his labors. Along with the Sun and the Moon, which the Gods seemed less concerned about.

Loki was successful, but vanished for a few seasons as he had to bear the fruit of his trickery. He returned to Odin leading his equine offspring, which he presented as a gift.

Though the whole male column is unbelievable, I'm rather surprised 42% of females said it's okay if she gets him sexually excited. Shocked

This would be shocking enough even if it took a lot of work to get a guy excited, but in many cases a warm smile is sufficient...

I have to assume this questionairre was given with some background assumptions - that they've already established that they like each other (date rape), but it still doesn't excuse the percentages. And I think the girls on the 'sexually excited' question have put themselves into a fantasy world.

you know, i don't think they have been given any backround, they probably make their own as they get the questions, but yes, i agree, that females too answer that, in a high percentage, is kinda disturbing. but most of them, i guess, are answering if they saw another woman do it, i don't think they are putting themselves in that situation. when they think of other people when answering these kind of questions, women can actually be as sexist as men.

Hadn't thought of that perspective. Yes, women can tend to be judgmental. I pointed out to a (relative to me at least) young woman that she was rather judgmental, and her response was "of course! where do you think gossip comes from?"

My thought was different: they had imagined themselves doing all of these things to get a guy excited (which they would only do if they liked him), but weren't planning on sex...just sort of exerting their powers to enjoy teasing him. And then the rape fantasy takes over and they give a stupid response.

I think a lot of it is down to ignorance and not having been given the facts of life class at school. I remember when I was a teenager it was common to have a guy say if he didnt c*** it damaged his balls. this made the girl feel guilty like she was crippling someone by not doing it. There are a lot of these myths still floating around, like you cant get pregnant standing up. This poll is just part of the misedcuation

That is rather troubling. Though I notice "never" is not an alternative, and the question itself doesn't mention rape explicitly. It's obviously meant to get people to contemplate their moral stance in view of real world situations. Which leads us back to the results being troubling, I guess.

yes, if the teacher was using it as a starting point for discussion, this is an extremely useful poll.

I was with a young lady once in college, and she asked me if it was true about blue-balls (the American version of this myth, though it may be a wider term). I was rather shocked that someone of her intelligence and age (and experience) could actually question it. I told her if some guy brings up blue balls she should kick them to ensure they really are.
