Please tell me that Honey Boo Boo style pasta isn't spreading.

Actually, I think things are heading in the opposite direction, at least here in Norway. There was some heavy American influence in the 80s and 90s which was reflected in the food people ate, but people are getting more aware of what they eat, and interested in making proper food. And proper pasta.  

I really like making this.

I was gonna post the video, but then I watched yours, and I want to just enjoy that one for now. If you're really curious about ketchup pasta, search for "Honey Boo Boo sketti" on YouTube, but I don't advise it.

It's gorgeous. Sooo easy to make, sooo good. Would really recommend trying it.

I've never tried it, but I kinda want to now. Maybe I can convince my mom to make and eat some with me, despite her (tongue-in-cheek) Roman snobbery for Southern Italy.

Haha, yeah, they seem fond of such ideas the Italians. I guess they would call it cucina povera (poor mans food), but it's very easy and very good. And I'm guessing some of the greatness lies in the simplicity.

Just let me know if you need any pointers.

I hate doofusdongles whatever they are called, I want wifi but I dont think my area is covered, being up the side of a mountain, we dont even have gas pipes, telephone line is wonky too. I really hope I can get wifi soon.

Wifi? That would come from your broadband router. Assume you mean 3g or 4g for your phone?

someone said I could buy a universal modem, put the sim card into it from my dongleddofus and put it near a window. cos the walls of my house are two feet thick stone, nothing gets through. dont know whether its a waste of money though, the modem things are about 50 euros.

I sympathize, Mrs Figg. I have to drive a fair distance to get a high speed connection. On the other hand, I'd think living on the side of a mountain without being constantly wired to the 21st century would have it's advantages too. No?

Ok here goes!
You dont need to know what 3G is just what it does. Its just a way to connect to the internet from a mobile device (phone, pad ect), and its great in areas with good coverage, and terrible and annoying everywhere else. Just like normal mobile phone reception.

Which is where wifi comes in if you are using your phone at home to go online.
Your router is the box that connects your computer to your phone line, its usually got blinky lights on it.
Your router might have wifi, allowing you to connect to the same line you use when on your computer, but using your phone.
If your phone can use wifi there will be somewhere in options that lets you see any signals it can pick up, if your router has wifi you should see it on the list, it will ask you to input a code.
On the bottom of most routers is where you find the code, you enter that code into your phone and it will connect to the internet.

To either add to or help dispel the confusion, take your pick but here's my offering:

• Wifi is NOT something that comes to your area.  Internet connection comes to your area, then you set up some box that will broadcast locally via wifi.

• You can get internet connection three ways: via standard phone line modem (ice flow slow, usually no blinky lights), via internet cable (usually very fast, going through a box with blinky lights), or via cell phone data reception (will vary with area and phone).  You use one of these three things to connect to a box that broadcasts wifi. Said box may have a blinky light or two of its own.

• For all practical purposes wifi is only useful for portable devices like laptops or phones.  It means you can wander around the house.  It's like having a built-in dongledufus.

In that case the dongle almost certainly is connecting using 3G. And the reason it not good enough is what I said above- 'its great in areas with good coverage, and terrible and annoying everywhere else.'
And I'm afraid you are stuck with terrible and annoying.

Do you have a landline phone? If so you might want to see about getting your internet through that line.
But if you are really far away from the nearest phone exchange it might be just as bad.
In which case you could get satellite internet, but you pay through the nose for it usually compared to a land line.
