Shopping for clothes is work, money and time, not fun. At least from the male perspective.... Wish I was gay (not for the last time. (was that inappropriate?)).

Well, getting on the wrong bus the first time and leaving my bag behind was all me, and that's what really made me crabbit. The plane delays never really bothered me - things that are truly out of anyone's control rarely get me upset, just the things that rightfully should have been done better. Especially by me.

haha, totally agree halfy. my plane can be a week delayed, i won't mind as long as it was someone else fault and out of my reach. it's just annoying, but not worth the effort of being crabbit/pissed off/stressed out about.

It looks to me like you'd have been fine if you'd just kept having consistently bad luck. If you'd missed the last bus, for example, or arrived at the station 5 minutes later than you'd expected. Those things a guy can take in stride. It was the unexpected GOOD luck that always screws you up!

This is in danger of sounding a bit sacrilegious in the "things that are making you crabbit" thread, no?

Fortunately that one was delayed and I made it, but got into the airport about 1 am. Then the mid level train that takes you to the big train station is out so there's a shuttle bus. I get on the wrong one, go around in a circle, get off all crabbit and get on the next one, which happens to be the last one of the night. It gets to the train station sooner than I expect so i jump up in surprise and go running to catch the upcoming train, only to discover I left my bag on the bus!
Wrote to lost and found, no answer yet. My best dress clothes and shoes where in there. I am seriously crabbit!

This is why you should wear full a plaid kilt Halfy Everything you need about your person, and you can't lose your best clothes because in a kilt you are so obviously already wearing them

omg, someone just stole the sauron head from the bookstore/nerdshop! it's the sweetest little shope, crammed with comic-books, lego, lotr-artifacts and what not AND SOMEONE STOLE THIS FROM THEM!! this shop is present at all the hobbit premiers and other nerdy-films and has a little stand. like they let you borrow it and take a photograph with their swords and helmets and i am so angry! (so if anyone from here wants to sell it don't fucking buy it!)

Know-it-alls on reddit that think they know everything about "classical" music. That whole website is just a race to the bottom with everyone throwing around ten-dollar-words in order to sound smart. Why the hell do I still browse /r/all? It just puts me in a bad mood.

Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
That's why you should spend time on specialized forums rather than bloated megasites like Reddit. Almost always a higher quality of discussion and more informed userbase on whatever the topic is.
- Spoiler:
- Implying that forums aren't full of their own bullshit. :\/
Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
Yeah, I've removed the default subreddits from my front page, but I still go to /r/all, and I still find things that make me mad. I really appreciate when someone comes out and says: "I don't know." I respect that. And I hate it when people try to come up with something to say because they like to read their own writing and are desperate for internet points.
I find that forums are harder to integrate into, especially if they're a tight knit community. It took a lot of lurking before I made an account here. I used to submit content and comment a lot on reddit, I mostly browse these days and I barely vote. Part of me wants to delete my account, but the other part of me knows that I'll just end up making another one.

Examples? Give us something particularly egregious.

I too have found Reddit to be easier to just jump into, but I find it to be less personal than forums in general. That might change if you're a regular in certain subreddits but at first glance I don't think the comments section-esque layout helps. Forums are definitely more of an investment of time and energy and I don't join many these days, but I've found that they can be really rewarding if you find one that's a good fit.
I have a Reddit account too, but I've only posted a couple times. Even though I don't read it regularly, I see stuff that's interesting every now and then, so it's nice to be able to vote or comment if I really feel like it. IMO.

One that I remember was the assumption that classical musicians approach the music like one would a mathematical equation. Wtf does that even mean? And music written with this in mind (the mathematical view) is boring. I'm not sure what sort of "classical music" these people have been exposed to.
Oh, and then there's this stunning proclamation, "Innovation in classical music after the Romantic era became sort of desperate and forced in my opinion (twelve-tone music anyone?)." Dat dere 12-tone music is hard to listen to, amirite? hyuck hyuck!
And then there's some misinformation about the Art of Fugue (one person said that the H in B-A-C-H is B-flat and that the final fugue ends on a statment of B-A-C-H (which it doesn't)). Sometimes it's just best to not get involved in these sorts of conversations.

Yeah, the comment section can be confusing (not to mention the search funciton, amirite???? ). This is the only forum I'm really active on, and I can't foresee myself joining, for example, a Game of Thrones forum, or something along those lines. As much as I like it, I don't feel as connected to it as Tolkien, so I'd just stick with looking at /r/gameofthrones, and I'd be fine with that. (Also where would I find my gifs?!?!)
So reddit's not all bad, just most of it.

Re: Things that are making you crabbit! [4]
Another reason to be crabbit. I worked out a long reply, submitted and it seems to be gone. *sigh* Try again.
I can understand thinking that reading fully written out music is like reading a mathematical equation, but that's middle school level performance, where you are happy to just hit the right notes.
I equate people who don't 'get' 12 tone composition (especially in the hands of a master like Schoenberg) with people who don't 'get' jazz. It's a matter of educating the ear - once it's no longer unfamiliar you can hear all sorts of stuff you couldn't before. Though it's tempting to say later music is less accessible because it's let naturalistic, we have to remember the medieval avant garde. And I once took a friend who grew up listening to Miles Davis (I am not a fan) to a Dixieland concert, and he had a hard time listening to it. Another highly musical friend got headaches listening to Indian music on account of the quarter tones. It's all about how educated you are in a medium.
I'm familar with the BACH signature, but if you hadn't pointed it out might have assumed H was B flat as well: it's been a long time. But on consideration B flat going to B natural makes much more musical sense, especially in a baroque context.
