G.B. FOUND - ALIVE!

I often wondered if maybe everyone else on this forum is actually the same person... Or maybe everyone else on the forum is me apart from you! Mwhahahaha!

Are you, Baingil, Odo, Petty, Chris, Biffo, Mirabella, Kafria, Pseudo-Kafria, Ringo Herring, Pretty, Lorient, GB (before he was drownded), the list goes on.... You are a girl of many parts, it seems.

Ok so who's GB? Ive read some of his older posts but he left before I got here...

Patron saint of Forumshire ole Beard. He was a founding member (I think- somethings meld into legend after a while) and all round good Beard. Cruel unpleasant life forced him from his pc connection and he has not been seen since. But we still remember him, we who dwell in Forumshire. And we await his return and the chance to throw him a party when he does. (Besides I am sure he will want to come back if only to one day beat me in an argument! )

It's sad to think of those great days of yore. The 1st Age - before Dark Planet. The 2nd Age - which ended when GB left. The 3rd Age is great too (as everything in Forumshire ALWAYS is) but there is definitely a need for a 4th Age - the 2nd Coming of GB will bring that Age in, I'm sure. I live in hope.

This all makes me think of the day we found Chris again - well, he found us actually --- great day indeed -- great day; you know, seeing that we mostly thought he'd been drownded.

Spoooooooooky! I opened my emails and guess who was waiting there for me? (At least, his email was there!) It was GB himself. He's well. Still financially stricken. He has saved two puppies from a slow starving death in a forest (good old Beard - and True Story!) He emailed me from a Library --- a Library! and I didn't even know he could read! I tell you what, it was GREAT to hear from Him.

He sends his love and when he can afford it he promises to return. We're not forgotten.

Oh happy day. I do miss him. I guess we all do. That old mad hatter! That crazy diamond. That Founding Father!

Hey! I'm finished work for the day. I've got tomorrow off! And good ol' beard has emailed me. Things can't get better than that!

(He was answering an email I sent a few weeks ago now - shows you how often he can get on the internet. It must be killing him - but at least he's not drownded).

Shouldn't this thread really be in the OFF TOPICS section? (And the thought of Porgy massaging GB's feet is pretty off. I hope he had a spare pair of socks during his wanderings. )

I'm sorry to be the bearer of utterly shit news, but I've received an email from GB. Sadly, his Mum died unexpectedly. She has had some medical issues over the past few years, but nothing that forewarned GB of what was going to happen. As you can imagine, he is utterly devastated, and I really don't know what to say to convey the depth of grief that jumped out at me from his email.

As you all know, GB is kind of like the Guardian Angel of this Forum, and his long abscences from Forumshire have been due only to all sorts of financial and other personal issues at home. Nonetheles, he has always loved this place and he misses it. And even now he is thinking of his good netosphere friends here.

In his email it's clear he was not only devastated but really angry. At the moment "God" is a dirty word. Not that he believes in "God", mind. But anyhow, if He exists, I don't think He's on GB's Christmas list right now.

You'll be pleased to know he had a bit of a rant - but it was mild by his standards, and truly heartfelt. He had a really close relationship with his Mum, and I'm a bit worried about him. (I'm a bit wet in the eyes writing this. Me! Go figure!) GB did mention that pricks like Dick Cheney are still living while a genuine good person got taken away from him.

He has family, so I'm hoping they're looking after each other.

Anyhow, he said he won't be back for awhile. I told him I'd pass on this rotten news. Life's a prick sometimes.

I too am at a loss for words. If anyone ever deserved a break it's him, and now this happens. Pass on to him my condolences if you can, Orwell.
