G.B. FOUND - ALIVE!
NEWSFLASH
FORUMSHIRE LEGEND FOUND ALIVE!
The hard working crew of the Archet Bugle (a Respectable journal that does not rely on bells and whistles and salacious gossip, like certain glossy shallow rags) are pleased to advise the inhabitants of Forumshire that that arch Tolkien Liberal, and Forumshire Friend, Gandalfs Beard has been located both alive and kicking, even if he is a little sad at the moment. A respectable journal such as the Bugle will not, of course, reveal Matters of a Private and Personal Nature, but We can reveal that he and his family have had a few things on the plate of late, some of them distressing to say the least. However, GB assures us that he has not forgotten us and will return when he feels stronger. He loves us still, of that I'm sure, as We love him - that goes without saying.
Also, while GB did not actually say it (We have but read between the lines), GB clearly thinks the Scottish Purist to be a Disreputable Rag that not even a self-professed Tolkien Liberal would touch with a barge pole - and as to that Gossipy Girlish Twaddle - well, he did not even condescend to imply between the lines just how lowly he regards that piece of toilet paper!
The Bugle would like to thank Odo Banks, whose intrepid endeavours and hard work has led The Bugle to the Successful Finding of Gandalfs Beard both alive and kicking. Wonderful family, the Bankses, and make no mistake.

The bit about G.B being alive and well, great. The bit about you being mean to the respectable writer of the Purist, not great. Not great at all.

Re: G.B. FOUND - ALIVE!
Good news on the GB front even if the circumstances are not so good.
All my best wishes GB, the only good thing about living in an ever changing universe is the world always turns- there will be better days ahead somewhere.
My thoughts are with you GB at this difficult time and we look forward to your return when you feel up to it.
As to the Archet Bugles' exclusive- well good to see the Purist missing a scoop for a change (staff are probably too drunk) and probably just as well given their 'sensationalist' attitude to journalism!
I heard tell they snuck a palantarrazi into Squach's Surprise Party so I wouldn't be surprised to find some sensationalist nonsense in this Sundays NoP.

Best wishes to GB, I had feared something terrible happened but also hoped that GB would pull through okay in the end. I hope you and your family are better soon, old Beard.
Re: G.B. FOUND - ALIVE!
GB may return VERY soon! The place is just not quite the same without him. (((Don't tell him I said that))).

Good news I was actually thinking about the old beard yesterday! It was a day with exceptionally nice weather, so I decided to fill the old waterpipe with some of Egypt's finest tobacco and enjoy it outside in the sun. It reminded me of a discussion we had on the old forum, which in turn got me thinking about GB and how the forum wasn't really quite the same without him. Strange coincidence

I was having this argument with this boy who though The Hobbit was part of Lord of the Rings. I was trying to explain how, while it was similar, it was a different to Lord of the Rings, and I though "GB would have an answer for the ignorant boy!" But really he is this forum, when I first joined the old forum, a year before I actively started posting, he really really helped me on a project I was doing on Tolkien, he's the sort of helpful fella you rarely find on internet forums any more, I've always given him the position of leader of the forum, ady wasn't up to much- never spoke to him, so really this is GB's forum, as it is all of ours!

Re: G.B. FOUND - ALIVE!
Yes indeed, Ally. GB is a genuine good guy (if somewhat Liberal) and a very welcoming chap - though a bit TOO easy going, to judge by the silliness and disrespectability he has always allowed both here and on the Old Forum. He has a bit of the dark side about him, mind, I have to say that. Indeed, everyone here in Forumshire (except the Eru Loving Bankses) are a bit evil, so I guess I should be tolerant. (Not that one should tolerate evil, mind! ) You know, I agree with you about the old Admin. Very invisible He was. Like he had an evil Ring or something.
Btw Eldo isn't such a bad chap either, as Moderators go. When one recognizes that everyone here (except the Bankses) are evil, he is only Moderately evil.
Illuvatar be with You!

Re: G.B. FOUND - ALIVE!
I am not evil, how dare you, I'm bloody crabbit though!
Good news concerning the immanent return of GB, despite as Odo says some of is more PJ loving traits, but such a great guy is he that even that cannot stop me missing his bearded presence about the forum. Indeed he engaged with me in debate from the off on here and was one of the big factors in my deciding this place was a little bit special. So I owe him big for being here (and now you all know who to blame). Come back soon GB so I can tell you how wrong you are about a number of things.

Re: G.B. FOUND - ALIVE!
I just came across this thread! I had no idea GB was away, because I was away! But I wish that Old Beard the best. I'm coming out of a difficult time myself, and everytime it seemed I was getting better, BAM, I had to get another surgery (only 3 in all, but in 1 month). I just want to say that the light IS at the end of the tunnel, but you can never predict how long the tunnel will be. I'm proud to say I can finally see the light at the end of my tunnel, pretty faint, but definitely there. I hope GB is at the same point. I miss him messing with all you purists!

No lights in a crabbit tunnel!
Glad to hear you are seeing a way forward Tin, there's always one somewhere.
Although with your return are there now more females on here than male? For some reason that is a worrying thought.
