I thought that was true of Hide also which is also a small scale epiosde with a small cast in a confinded space.

The remind me of how the Doctor-lite episodes every series play out.

And I have to hand to Moffat I think he disguises the Doctor lite episode every series incredibly well- first one he ever had to do he turned in Blink, series 6 had the Girl Who Waited and last series The Crimson Horror. All in my view are more than well enough done that you dont even notice they are the Doctor lite episode.

Dont know if this will be of interest to anyone or not, but Ive been putting classic episodes together into single films (so when I watch them I dont have to skip through the credits or the replay of the end of the previous episode)-

Ive started with the first Doctor and Ive picked my own favourite stories- so far Ive done Dalek Invasion Earth (2hr 19mins)and The Time Meddler (1hr 33mins).

Next I'm planning to cover the 2nd Doctor stories Tomb of the Cybermen and War Games.

If anyone is interested in them I can put them on the Skydrive.

I will be getting to Pertwee- I'm planning to join all the episodes of 'The Silurians' into a single film length, same with 'Inferno'- not decided which others yet.
But there will be at least 2 'movies' from the Pertwee era.

I might be interested in that, Petty.  Smile  Still has some Bakers to get through though.

As for any Bakers that might fit the film format, except Genesis of the Daleks of course, maybe Seeds of Death?

I was thinking of doing possibly a trilogy of films for Baker out of the Keys to Time story arc.

Seeds of Death good be done.

I had already ages ago done City of Fear too.

City of Death?

Yeah that's another great one.

I love the scene at the start of it when they stand on the top of the Eifel Tower and Baker says something to the effect of when describing the year they've travelled to:

"1979? Not a great vintage really. A bit of a table wine."  Laughing

Oh and John Cleese of course.

Yeah.

It's a shame Douglas wasn't given more of a run at the show. City of Death was great. I wonder how Shada would have turned out.

Read the first Dirk Gently book and find out- its Shada without the time lords (still has a TARDIS though just not named as such)

Some of Shada does exist- they shot about half of it I think. ( the Doctor scene in the Five Doctors where he is punting on the river is footage from Shada)

It was just obviously the Who story he put the most of himself in. So a shame that it was never finished.

Love that they reused the Cambridge fotage for the Fiveish Doctors thing.  Laughing

Quite intriguing interview with Tom about the 50th among other things.

He is certainly one of these people who can mesmerize you with just his voice.

A newer version of a video charting Who's humanist and secular tradition.
I assume one of the reasons Who does so well in Amerca is they havent spotted the underlying messages yet!  Wink

They built a Tardis:

Unfortunately they weren't counting on the boundary layer doing it's thing: no wind down low, but once they got above tree level there's obviously a wind gradient that tipped it over. Such is life.

MMmmm moving in time... I deliberately ignored that bit, Im guessing that knowing me, Id be bouncing here there & everywhere, which, in turn would probably cause MORE problems & it would snowbound out of control, especially by me trying to correct stuff !  Neutral

Thats why you need a Time Lord about the fly the bugger- pretty sure it was a lack of Time Lord used theirs to crash, that would never have happened if there had been a man in a long scarf about or with a vegetable pinned to his lapel or wearing a bow tie.
