Re: The Desolation of Smaug pre-release thread [2] [SPOILERS]
Regards the Blue wizards they do get a mention in the appendices, but they are not named except in UT- so PJ did avoid being sued there- he mentions them as the Blue wizards (which he has the rights to do) but then Gandalf claims he has 'forgotten their names' (as they dont have the rights to the book containing them).
In the case of Bree they wont be able to use a single line of actual Tolkien dialogue from UT or have it play out exactly the same way or the Tolkien Estate might have a case.
But then as PJ and the Coven seem to hate any dialogue ever written by Tokien that shouldnt present them with any problems.
Congrats on 2000!

Well I'm sure Jackson knows all this anyway so there is nothing to worry about.

Re: The Desolation of Smaug pre-release thread [2] [SPOILERS]
Some stills I grabbed from the recent fan event video-
Going on the weapon this would appear to be Bolg-
But the graphic on the monitor seems to show something a lot more Azog like than what we have seen touted as Bolg so far, another change to make Bolg look more like Azog?
Its a spiders maw opening as it closes down on the screen- exactly the same shot used for Shelob as she pursues Frodo in fact, more nods to the film that cannot be named but rules them all-
Orcs attacking Lake Town-
Beorn (I'm guessing we can kiss goodbye to Gandalfs humorous and clever introduction to him then in favour of yet another ludicrous action sequence)
Not sure when watching this if its a new sequence or is from Goblin Town in AUJ- I am hoping the later given how preposterous looking it is-
Oh good more wire work yet more physically implausible goings on-
Dwarves captured by elves somewhere around the spider fight stuff-
Thranduil cutting a dash even when fighting somewhere-
Sir Ian and McCoy try to remember what scene they are supposed to be in and completely fail to get a single clue from their surrrounds, leading to a lot of swearing-
Thranduil still killing stuff, but not sure where- somewhere with a lot of arches in its architecture-
And finally the PR banner for DOS- can you spot the Hobbit of the title? Its like Where's Wally only with Bilbo, and harder to find.

Thorin and Legolas are the main characters Figgs. Get with the program!
Also, no one likes Bilbo.
I'm pretty sure that is the new Bolg design. If I were Conan Stevens, I'd be pretty fucking pissed off.
