I have looked at going to uni and doing something but it would involve some big lifestyle changes for lots of people just because of loss of income plus the stupid amount it costs to do a uni course.

I am saving up for a pilots license instead (amoung other things)

Unfortunately money is a problem because it costs 6,000 for tuition fees, and thats not including living expenses and rent. Mr Figg is not involved as its my shit I need to be financially indipendant and I am figuring it out myself. Its a challenge, its quite interesting. Its also in another country so the logistics are difficult, I have to sort everything out from a distance.
Theres no chance of jobs here, its nearly as bad as Greece, its not going to get any better any time soon. Also I have nothing to lose as I dont have to give a job up. If you have a good solid job thats well paid its a big decision to give it up for education. But in the long run it can help you up the ladder and better paid jobs could follow. It depends on the Sector you work in, if its something where having a degree can significantly boost your cv and earning power I say make the sacrifice. If you have kids you need a very understanding partner, as you will be on one income for 3 years or so, if you are on a degree course. Me I love studying, so its a no brainer.

Can you study in Scotland Mrs Figg- not sure how fees work mind you for overseas students- but higher education is free here.
