That summed America and the sexualization of breasts all up rather well in one short gif I felt.

Well my first thought was that it was funny because of the kids reaction. My second thought was that she probably should have been charged with exposing herself to a minor.

What was that anyway? Everyone seemed excited by whatever was going on there.

No, I mean before that. Everyone is at some kind of show or rally - whoever was up there inspired her to show herself. Gotta wonder what it was.

I think it's probably from a WWE match, because she has a 3:16 Stone Cold Steve Austin shirt on.

Who let the kid in a WWE match? Boobies were probably the most kid friendly thing he saw the whole night.

Dare I ask why it made you proud?

Lots of kids love wrestling. They're a big part of the WWE's demographic.

Oh, it's mostly just prejudice. WWE, and wrestling, but WWE in particular, for all it's bluster just strike me as so mind numbingly.. uninteresting. Like I struggle to grasp why people watch it.
That said, I sometimes wonder if most professional sport is all that different when it comes down to it..

Re: Manly Thread - Boys Only
I rarely watch wrestling myself, and I've got no problem with people not liking it, but I get douchechills sometimes at the arrogant dismissal of sports (especially sports stereotypically associated with the working class) as if people who do like them are dumb. The fact that it usually comes from liberal/progressive minded people just boggles my mind even more. Not talking solely about you here, but it seems like the definition of class snobbery to me. Wasn't the left supposed to be the party of the working man? I get the psychological reasons why all people like being able to look down on someone else from time to time, but what I don't get is the lack of self-reflection within the liberal-leaning middle class as a sociocultural group, when we seem quite fond of doing such pondering about every other group.
Hope you'll forgive my ramblings, I've been really missing political philosophy lately.

Oh was that philosophy? Here I was thinking it was a rather personal attack on Blue! Douchebag arrogant class snob? This is not ok.

Hey, I am all those things.
Nah, never mind. I do get where your coming from, Eldo. And if I was judging wrestling on it's audience I would agree with you. My problems with it are however on it's merits. Violence and bad acting? Meh, not for me. It's a bit like pornography in that regard. Bad sex and bad acting? Meh, no thanks.

Re: Manly Thread - Boys Only
Years (decades... ) ago a friend tried to explain the joys of Wresting. She was like "That guy used to be friends with him, but now he's helping that other guy. Oh that guy there he might be coming to help the first guy, unless...", so I am under the impression that it is big muscle spandex soap opera going on.

Re: Manly Thread - Boys Only
WWE type of wrestling is the kind of thing that is so gloriously bad and overdone that it's good. It's sort of like the New York Times review of Gods of Egypt: "If it were any worse, it would be a masterpiece."
Not that I would let myself get caught watching WWE....

Re: Manly Thread - Boys Only
I used to like watching American & British wrestling back in the day British wrestling really was more about the bona fide moves & how to get out of them & pinning your opponent down whereas American wrestling is glitz, side taking, a good reason for getting the crowd to take sides, its more like an ongoing story or a age long barney with a neighbour As much as I used to like watching it, it was soooo obvious it was staged & planned out. There were the odd fights that were real, real animosity I think my favourite out of all the "stars" of wrestling has to be Brett Hart. I thought he was great & he could wrestle as in, the correct moves etc not, as a pantomime.

Re: Manly Thread - Boys Only
I agree with Eldo's analysis of class snobbery when it comes to certain working class sports. I come from the North where pidgeon racing, dog racing, and darts is, or was, the favourite pastime of the traditional WC man. Try telling some Guardian reading home counties posh person that your neighbour races pidgeons, and watch the sneer growing on the upper lip. its snobbery plain and simple.
(((((actually my neighbour shoots pidgeons and eats them, but that is besides the point ))))
