Jesus, this show is going to reduce my life span by at least ten years from all the excitement before it's over, it's so incredibly good. I don't think I've ever watched a show that makes my heart beat twice the normal rate and forces me to play the next episode right away. I don't want it to end, and at the same time I do want it to end so that I can have some peace of mind. It's just too good pale

I know the feeling, Ringo. Laughing It's been a very tense and sometimes stressful experience watching the show. It conveys certain emotions and draws you in excellently.

Also, I want to use the phrase "This is my own private domicile and I will not be harassed, bitch!" in real life. Very Happy

Yeah, the writing is excellent Very Happy As is all the actors, and almost everything about it. My only quibble with it is how everyone seems to think it's safe to talk about everything on the phone. The writers seem to have become aware of this flaw in their writing in the later seasons, but even then it's rather random; in one episode people are making sure that they're on secure lines, and in the other they're not all that bothered about talking meth business on the phone. Still, that's only a quibble, and a small one at that. This show has done nothing but deliver in each episode Very Happy

Any watching (or still enjoying) Homeland?

I loved season 1 and liked most of season 2 but now it just feels like clunky melodrama.

I mean who really cares about Dana and the same old crazy Carrie stuff?

Well you live in the USA so at least you could get it earlier than me and be warned of its shiteness.

At least the seasons are only 12 episodes, alot of American Shows I can't get into because 22-26 episodes a season feels like dragging things out too long, I tend to loose interest.

This may have already been talked about, but I just jumped aboard Serenity and finished Firefly!
It's really a well-written show! Granted, I'm not about to join the brown coat cult, but I did really enjoy it. Whedon's got a great mind!

I don't think I've met/talked to anyone who saw Firefly and disliked it...apart from one friend who will remain anonymous-'It's too American and the Effects weren't very good'...'Have you heard of the concepts of American Televison and Budgets???' No reply.

This guy also hero worships Jackson and expressed surprise/annoyance to find The Children of Hurin was so different to Peter Jackson's 'awesome' Lord of the Rings films-his only other exposure to Tolkien who he still claims to be a fan of because he likes the films...

Damn just made myself crabbit...

I saw Serenity years ago with a friend who was a big fan of Firefly.  I had never heard of the show at the time and wasn't particularly impressed by the movie.  But I'm told it's not representative of the show's quality.

NB If you're pissed off about Firefly ending so early, watch Cowboy Bebop next!  It shares many concepts and has a complete finale and everything. Cheerleader

Serenity was a let down for me, it was good to see everyone back but its a squashed rushed story line with an out of place ST type, captain saves the day has a Kirk fight with bad guy over precarious drop in scifi setting ending, and worse it doesn't fit with with the tv show, particularity River and her brother- if he had pulled off the sort of rescue you see in the film he would not have been the character he was when you meet him on the show, who is naive and too uncertain to hold a gun straight. He is a Doctor from a privileged, comfortable background on a Core Planet. He is not a super-agent of some sort. Mad

And there was no follow up to a lot of seeming important stuff- what or who was Shepherd Brook before he became a Shephard? There is a whole mystery there that is not only ignored in the film but quite literally wiped out from the script. Mad
And worse of all in my view, despite the films bad guy being the best thing about it, no follow up to the creepy "Two, by two, hands of blue" guys. Mad

I can see your point Petty but I seem to recall reading an interview with Whedon stating the original script was nearly twice the size and provided answers to both of the above, but they had to be jettisoned for budgetary/time reasons (I believe Shepard's back story was eventually explored in the Firefly spin off comics)

I personally liked Serenity alot, especially that out of knowhere death
