Id rather watch factual progs than fiction.I watched this last night & its thought provoking. I dont find J.Rhys Meyers convincing as Henry VIII ?

I watched that too Azriel- was interesting, although I tend to prefer less dramatic renactment- either make a history programme or make a docudrama- dont do both at once BBC! Mad

Oh I dont know Petty ? it wasnt as bad as some progs Ive seen? The guy playing Henry was in my view, the BEST look-a-like Ive seen ! He, was how I imagine Henry, not that sleazy sop J.R.Meyers ! oooooo yuk !
I like the costumes to Figgy ! I can imagine swishing about in one of those dresses, ( & bunking in with Charles Brandon, played by yummy Henry Cavill) Hoo-Hoo ! Very Happy

Just watched a docu on Ronnie Barker. I always loved the Two Ronnies and in Porridge and Open All Hours he plays two of my all time favourite sitcom characters.
One a north England corner shop keeper called Arkwright and the other a life long working class London criminal in jail.
As a character actor he is rarely surpassed.
But I think what I got most from watching The Two Ronnies as a kid was a love and appreciation for the fun to be had with words and sentence construction- no better examples than these (how the hell he did the monolugues in a single take still leaves me gobsmacked)

Backstory: The original anime was literally so awful, the dubbing team were told to just go nuts and do whatever they like

That is amazing, Norc! lol! Thanks for posting. Most anime comedies are shit, but that is hilarious, all the more so because I recognized some of the dub actors' voices. Laughing

Reminds me a little bit of Princess Robot Bubblegum, which Petty introduced me to. Laughing

I've been going on a bit of a Netflix binge tonight.  First I watched the first two episodes of Orange is the New Black, where is there new comedy(ish) series about a women's prison.  It's okay, but I'm not a big fan of stories that are mainly driven forward by the main character being a moron.  I then started watching Arrested Development, which I'd never actually seen before, and it's pretty funny so far in a surreal sort of way. :lol:Plenty of idiotic characters here too, but the show does't take itself seriously, so it works in a screwball kind of way.

Nope, I've heard of it but I've never seen Misfits. I don't watch a ton of live-action TV, to be honest.

Think he means TV as broadcast- as opposed to watching stuff on netflix or iplayer style things.
