Dog breath is the stuff of Satan but that's different.

Cats smell if their litter box hasn't been changed ... but then again, I've lived around cats since a very early age, so I suppose I've been desensitized to their normal smell. On the other hand, wet dogs smell infinitely stronger (and worse) than wet cats IMO.

I may be biased though.

If you've ever had a male cat decide to mark his territory indoors, that's a smell you'll never steam clean out. may as well buy a new house.

for what it's worth, I don't think dogs smell bad. Not even wet ones. But it comes down to their food and so on. We had like cheap food for a month (had to try it out because it costed 10% of normal food) but it smelled like poop and our dog started smelling like that too..

I feel so sorry for such large animals.They can become agressive because of growth-pain, they easliy get bloath and the often die of hearfailure early because their heart can't pump blood out to all their limps.

We don't have a dog quite that big, but I've noticed the same thing with the little one taking the big bed. Doesn't seem quite fair to me.

small dogs are much more bossy generally than large dogs.. it's like an inherited quality so they can survive in the big world, I think. The big dog is way too polite to ask the little one to move xD

Two dogs (and two cats). We've had cats since I was a little kid, but only dogs since my step-mom moved in since they belong to her

The little one is a Chihuahua-Terrier mix who thinks she's a cat. The big one is a Lab/Greyhound mix who's going senile but gets along pretty well when he's lucid. He's buddies with the cat who thinks he's a dog. It took them some time to adjust to each other but all in all they get along pretty well. Even the really shy cat has come around.

Our ginger kitty (Ginger) doesn't get on wit our Burmese (Miscia) one bit, but both get on well with our Jack Russel cross (Buddy), who avoids confrontation, always walking away when the fur flies bearing an expression of ill-at-ease circumspection on his face. Circumspection! It's true! Not only true but hilarious... The catfight's aren't though... Miscia is half Ginger's size and beats her up - the big (little) meany!

cool. I had a rabbit once, I don't know what he thought it was, but rabbit wasn't one of em. He kept licking him and following him and all. The rabbit only once tried to chase him of but that only made him even more excited. Lol. He didn't mind though when we put two rats in his fur.

That's a pretty cool group of pets you've got. What's it like having birds? I've never had them myself, and the only people I know who did had loud, talking parrot types.
