i was talked to about my extreme shyness and blushing. My teacher said "it is not all about you Rachel." i was in agony if called upon to show my work. I wanted to die! So they put me in acting and dance and piano , and strangely enough I ended up teaching rock opera dance, singing and taught children as well and performed publicly. And you know what Ally, I still blush and am very shy. But I can say I did it and thank god it is over! I so look forward to your posts. You are witty and hilarious and kind and innovative. My advice is, go buy that shirt and then people will think how nice your shirt is and how tasteful you are. Then (I figure) new friends will come flocking.

I used to be very shy and still not the heart of a party but have become comfortable with myself as gotten older and generally don't care what people think of me any more.

Not sure if that is more confidence or lack of caring that has made me that way. I think it can appear as a lack of confidence as I tend not to talk for the sake of talking which can make me seem shy whereas most of the time now it is because I'm not one for small talk or saying things so that people know I am there (which, unfortunately, is how career progression in my industry seems to work)
