I forget where this university is you're applying to. is it in Italy? Might it be easier to just drive there? I don't trust video conferencing technology myself, it never seems to work right.

One of the great joys of anonymous Internet chatting is being sexually propisitioned by strangers, but that's only ever happened to me on sites like Chatroulette and Omegle. I used to be on MSN all the time because almost all my friends were there, and I loved it, but nowadays everyone I want to chat with is on Facebook and that's much easier to use, even though it has less functionality. I will miss MSN for nostalgia's sake, though.

Facebook has such a horribly designed interface, I can't stand to use it. I have to figure it out again every time I go on there (which apparently isn't much). But I shouldn't have to figure things out, it should be obvious.

I havent actually sorted out skype, i was just on here when this message popped up from this guy in NY. ha ha so I foolishly said hi, but he wasnt rude, very polite, just wanted a closer friendship. yeeeeeeeh so I said thanks but no thanks. so I will be using the phone for my interviews, its an advantage really because I dont have to wear smart clothes, (I dont have any), I can relax more at home, anyway the connection for the interweb is so bad here, it would probably conk out half way through talking, which doesnt look good and is irritating for them, which is really not good.

I'm not a huge fan of talking on the phone, but I'd definitely rather do an interview that way then using Skype.

I used to not be able to stand Facebook chat, but the convenience of being able to send a message to anyone in the same window that I'm checking my newsfeed in won me over.

yepp, i use facebook for everything, like events and meeting up with people and plannig stuff, and yes, sometimes facebook is messy, but i don't bother about it anymore.
