I will happily tell her. I showed the picture later to Clayton and his face went white and he just kept staring. He nearly drowned in a canoe once, it flipped over and he was trapped for a long time before being able to surface.
i wish I could have been there to see, what an experience. Except for performing dance in public or singing in a street band i have never been much to large events, they are overwhelming to me. Only once in a huge city i walked with about twenty thousand from the middle of the night until the following night for charity. Then, if you can believe it there was a dance. I got home, filled the bathtub with really hot water for a soak, started screaming when excrucitaing pain hit my feet and found to my horror a couple of days later that all but about two toe nails lifted right off. Sore toes for a month and had to be really careful not to bump them. So much for my participation in big events.

Re: Holidays and absences
hey, when talking about cosplaying, I'm wearing Sherlock clothes today, just realized. perfectly unintentional. really. (okay, not really).
Purple shirt of sex and black cotton high waist trousers. woop woop. fangirling.
like this. just more feminine.

You should do something with your hair to make it look Sherlocky and then take a picture.

I've slept for about 15 hours in the last three nights and have spent over 31 waking hours at the convention center: 13 each on Friday and Saturday, plus 4.5 today, which ended earlier. Once you remove travel time I've been home and awake for probably less than six hours since Friday morning and I am pretty exhausted. I don't go out or party a ton conventions are overwhelming no matter what, so it'll probably be a while before I'm fully active again. Thursday, the last day before the con started, feels like it was weeks ago. But I had an AMAZING time and a ton of fun. It was fairly indescribably awesome and I am super pleased that my first convention went so well.
Here's a really terrible picture of me, along with my brother (who is much more photogenic than me; he's not smiling because he's in character), in our cosplay. We went as the characters Mugen and Jin from Samurai Champloo, though we only wore costumes for the first day because they were a little inconvenient and also got soaked in sweat. Baltimore in the summer is not the most fun place to be, though the convention center was air conditioned, of course.
For comparison, a screenshot of the characters in the actual show.
The convention's website outlined a fairly strict weapons policy which was largely ignored in practice, but since this was our first time we didn't know that and didn't bring any props. One of many things we learned for next year.
And with that, I'm off to take a nap. And then watch some anime!
Are you and your brother going to auction off your costumes now?

We're both planning on keeping them. I hope that it will still fit so that I can wear it again at future cons. It'd be nice to have multiple costumes to choose from. There are some people who bring half a dozen outfits for a single weekend.

Good to here from the Mayor again.
I hope you and Squach are having a great time down south. With any luck there might be some British gold medals for you to see yet!
