I downloaded that gimp thingy Eldo sent, but can't open the file. So 

try Photoshop elements 9 its a simpler version of Photoshop and its probably free. Photoshop is used by all the professional photo retouchers so its pretty brilliant.

Where did you get it from Chris?
If your using windows it needs a windows installer- as its designed originaly for Mac-

If your using Mac I cant help Im afraid- I havent used a Mac since I as doing graphic design at college-I suspect they may have changed a bit since those far away days!

GIMP was made for MAC- the home of computer art and to compete in that market- it was so popular they did a windows version. And they give it away free.

photoshop is processor heavy, features youll never need heavy, pc designed art package. And they expect you to pay for it.

GIMP wins.

Sorry, I don't use Macs often so I've got no advice for downloading software on 'em.

well if a numbskull like me can learn it Chris, its pretty easy for normal people.

the professionals use Photoshop, they do NOT use Gimp. end of.

Only cause pros work for companies who have comercial deals too use photshop- they dont get a choice- bet they have gimp on their own pc's.

(Actually Id be very suprised if any professionals working for magazines ect use photoshop - Id much more expect them to be using macs- thats the industry standard for grpahic stuff)
