Re: Gif thread
I think your problem might be that you're saving them as JPGs. There could be something else involved too, but at the very least they're supposed to have the GIF filename extension.
Re: Gif thread
i do save em as gifs and i open them in quicktimeplayersomething and it works, but not when i upload them here
you have no idea the amount of derpy batch there is out there..

Re: Gif thread
When I open any of the images you've posted in this thread in a new tab they show up as JPGs. Maybe try uploading them to a different image host?
Re: Gif thread
I might have to change this avatar sooner than I thought because every time I see Cumberbatch on the side of the page I assume it's a Norc post.

Re: Gif thread
That was very impressive Mrs Figg- I had to do some rooting about to find out how they had done it as I couldnt mak my mind up watching it if it was cgi or not (there are some seeming cgi telltales, like the eyelid flutter) and a few other moments (like when she walks round the bus).
But heres the official blurb-
The realistic CG Audrey was created for a Galaxy chocolate commercial in the UK.
First, they searched for the perfect Audrey Hepburn doublewho shared as many of her features and characteristics as possible. Then they carried out extensive facial scanning at their in-house Capture Lab, including a FACS (facial action coding system) session. This enabled the team to record over 70 possible muscle movements and capture high resolution textures.
The commercial was then shot along Italy’s Amalfi coast, with cameras covering the action from multiple angles so the team could get a perfect track of the double’s face.
A model of Audrey was built using the iconic star’s film catalog and press photographs. A new renderer called ‘Arnold,’ designed to accurately simulate the tracing of light, enabled the team to perfect the soft, translucent feel of real skin.
The biggest challenges for Framestore were Audrey’s eyes and signature smile. A team of four animators hand-animated carefully posed expressions in every shot in order to bring the star to life.

Re: Gif thread
There were a couple sort-of uncanny valley moments but that was extraordinarily well done for a sixty second commercial.
Re: Gif thread
I didn't notice any lapse in reality, any more than you'd see with makeup and false eyelashes. Exceptionally well done.

Re: Gif thread
There were a couple of moments when she looked a little doll-like and plasticy next to the real people in the shot, but it was subtle and I was looking for it to begin with. I don't know if I would have noticed it otherwise. Regardless, very impressive work by the effects team. It's much better than some of the CGI you see in big budget movies, which is saying something.
Re: Gif thread
indeed, I was really amazed , I actually thought they had taken an old b/w film and coloured it, using modern Actors in some of the cutaway shots. I was trying to think of the original film it could have been, but I could only remember the one in Rome with Gregory Peck.

Re: Gif thread
I like Audrey Hepburn ! she was gooky but feminine at the same time. very pretty & appealing lady ! A lot nicer than the 3 belly, fat bummed, bingo wings, tracky bottom, greasy haired, boobs like 2 hot water bottles slapping together,"girlies" that goes around these days, (no offence in tended, says she with her tongue in her cheek!, & fingers crossed behind her back!)
