Nicely done Eldo- I have always wondered about makig GIF's but never got round to it- if you have tme Eldo how about a tutorial over on the.....um Im sure I made a thead for this sort of stuff somewhere...I put the GIMP tutrroials on it, for removing objects from pictures.....now where did I leave the bloddy thing?!

I think the most intimidating thing for me about being a parent/growing up is trying to keep all of my family's socks from getting lost.

Its a stressful part of adult life thats for sure CC.

But if you have a family then you will be a mum- and you get gifted with natural sock locating super powers- you also know where keys are left too as a bonus. But you lose the ability to know whats in your handbag and will be forced to rummage through it for ten minutes every time you open it.

There are some really complicated ways of making GIFs that I've never bothered to fully understand and now will never have to, because it basically cannot get any simpler than GifCam.

There's a tutorial of sorts and then the download link is about halfway through the page. The program is a single .exe file so there's not an install wizard: as soon as the program's downloaded you're good to go. The program opens in a new window with a blank, transparent space in the middle. Once you press the record button, whatever is happening on your screen underneath that blank space (whether it's a YouTube video playing, text that you're typing, literally anything) will be recorded. You can then edit it (slightly; the editing tools one of the few weaknesses of this version of the program) and then export it as a GIF image file.

That might sound more complicated then it is, because literally all you do is point and click.

Also, you can stop and re-start within the same recording, which is how I made the Sherlock GIF from a few pages back.

There's a button on the program that says "Edit" and you click that. There's not a ton you can do though. The most useful edit tool for me is deleting frames, since it's hard to time (for example) a YouTube video exactly if you're trying to GIF a specific moment.
