I agree that 'exhausted' was a poor choice of terms, but my point was that if you go to your social prejudice handbook and find yourself in the last chapter of the book with no education, no money, the wrong physical build, the wrong color hair, the wrong accent, etc., you can always find solace in denigrating people from neighboring countries, different skin colors, different religion (eg. Judaism), all of which can conveniently be labeled as 'race'.

This allows you to label people who is more industrious, better educated and better looking than you are as 'uppity', and throw stones at them if you choose. Very convenient! You find this everywhere in the world.

Certainly those could be some of the factors that could put a person lower in the perceived social ladder, but racism seems to have also arisen very naturally within mixed immigrant communities, in the military, in prisons, all places where the familiar social hierarchy is no longer in place and a new pecking order has to be established.

[edited to clarify, when I mentioned the military, I was referring historically to times of draft/impressment when large numbers of people from different backgrounds were thrown together and into battle with minimal training. A professional standing military has more than enough hierarchy and there should be no need for racism.]

Well Donald Trump swanned into Scotland- declared wind farms the work of the devil and gave evidence to the committe- he claimed wind farms were economicaly disastrous, would destroy tourism, kill wildlife and produce no power and cost a fortune. When asked what evidence he had to back any of this up he answered, without word of a joke "I am the evidence. I know about these things."

Best thing about him being here- the protester who snuck up behind him and gently rubbed a ballon against the top of his head to make his famous hairdo stand on end from the static electricity! Sadly I cant find the photo of it the Sun had.

That protestor should get the post modern ironic award for deflating an inflated gas bag.

the video or Jon Stewart? if the video just google 'jon stewart pizza trump' and you'll find about 6 different hostings of the same clip.

It's probably just the video. Comedy Central videos don't play in the UK (unless you use a proxy) because of licensing agreements. Although they do play in many other countries outside the U.S.

Sadly been through about 2 pages of google searching and all the videos link to the same source- which is unavailable from my location! Only one I could find is for a different show that has a clip from the Daily Show in it- so I got the gist of it but shame, would have liked to seen it all.

There's gotta be some work-around.
If i can figure out how to save it to my computer I could send it to you. Need to burrow through the scripts to the direct link.

Glad something works, my attempts to re-grid numerical weather data have suddenly gone belly up for no apparent reason. So much more beguiling to solve other people's problems.

After all the bluster, the fuss making David Cameron and the Unionist have made over the date of the referendum (which Salmond has always said will be autumn 2014) we get this today from our estimeed PM of Great Britain--

Well he was fussed enough about it up till now demanding it be held as soon as possible, claiming it was damaging investment and creating uncertainy (all which was proved to be untrue scaremongering mind you).

My little Scotsdale town as had an uncomfortable weekend.

'A 33-year-old man has been arrested following the death of another man at a house in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute.
Mark McGauchie, 33, was found at the property in the town's Cowal Place at about 01:00 on Monday.
The man arrested is expected to appear at Dunoon Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
In a separate incident, 45-year-old John Findlay was seriously assaulted in the town's Kirk Street at about 01:00 on Monday. He is in a serious condition in Inverclyde Royal Hospital.- BBC

Glad I wasnt out and about at 1am that night!
I dont know the deceased but I do know John Findaly, although not well. He has a troubled past, recently lost family members to tradegy, history of heroin problems, its probably something drug related that led to his current hospital visit.
