The Nostalgia Critic does a comparison. Does he agree with me or not?

No, but that's because he was wrong.  Nod  Lack of crabbit does that to a fellow. Twisted Evil

Also surprised he only touched on the structuring similarities regarding where they both choose to leave it on the Frodo/Sam story, given PJ mirrors Bashi's structuring and many of his shots from start all the way up till the same point in the story.

Haha! I had forgotten about this lovely little thread. Thanks for the bump Petty. Now off to watch that video.

Ouch, it is really hard to like "Thatguywiththeglasses."
His humour is often painfully unfunny, and the only times when he is funny it only lasts for a little bit before he sticks his foot in it again. It's not that his humour is bad, it's just that his delivery is awful.

Anyway, no surprises with his review really. I liked his emphasis on the building of atmosphere, that was thoughtful.

Here's a challenge for you Petty, combine the radio, PJ and Bakshi versions into one mega purist cut...

The thought has crossed my mind Malick.
Sadly there would be a lot of it would just be the radio version that would just be audio, as neither film has any visual material to match.

Just an idea. I did read once on a another forum someone else had attempted to do something similar for their own amusement, using various pieces of fan/professional art of M.E to replace the missing visuals creating a hodgepodge of all the different visual/dramatic adaptations edited as close to the book as possible...needless to say, that would be interesting to watch...

you could put the radio play over that 70s Russian film version. you get the quirk and the British thesps going at it. its a win win.

It's a 9 part mini series adapated from a play, I've only watched a few clips...but I've heard it's...different...(It only covers a bit of the hobbit for the first ep, than after the Breaking of the Fellowship it largely follows Sam and Frodo)

This is the first part
