Lorient - there is nothing rumour about it. PJ has said he is talking to the studio himself. And you know the studios only see 1 thing.

I can think of two reasons not to be crabbit about a 3rd movie:

1) If the 3rd is created as a "bridge movie" as was originally scripted, it'll mean that much of the "White Council"/"Hunt for Gollum" material may be edited out of the first 2 movies to stand alone in the 3rd movie rather than being forced into the proper Hobbit story where it had no business in the first place. This could actually maKe the first 2 movies much stronger, focusing on the story of Bilbo and the Dwarves' adventure and ending with Bilbo's return home as it should be, and leave us with a 3rd bastard fantasy flick we can skip or mock as we choose. I think there's hope for this based on the history of the evolution of the script.

2) If nothing else, it's guaranteed to give Petty more footage to work with as he attempts a purist edit.

Until I see what he has done I wont be sure if it is possible to get back to just TH- I suspect such characters as Tauriel and Legolas for example will play such large roles in the Elvinkings section that it may be impossible to take them completely back out and leave a coherent narrative.
But I supect I will try if only to give myself something I can bear to look at.

yes thats agreat photo of Martin, I think the weighting of the dwarves importance is reflected in the photo, so that Balin. Thorin, Kili, Dwalin?, and Bofur take precedence in the story. or have more lines?

Feet can be tough to draw I hear. And I think the water works well to hide them.

And water can be found in Norse Mythology, don't forget.
