Thats what I did with MS WORD (with a few pointers from a friend over the phone). But WORD IS a pretty simple program, and relatively easy to learn without a lot of help.

And that's how I managed to figure out how to do some of the simple bits of Photoshop too. But the rest of it stumps me, and I'm afraid to just start clicking on everything I see in case it freezes my whole PC or crashes the program.

Awesomeness! It took me a while to get used to GIMP but it is very cool. I'm nowhere near as talented as Petty when it comes to art or image manipulations, but the basics of GIMP are easy once you have a bit of practice.

Got to love the open-sourcesness of Gimp! I use Photoshop at school, Gimp at home- all these programs are so similar aren't they? I find with a bit of work, and a lot of internet tutorials, the most novice internet user can make something suburb! I think a new thread should be made not just to discuss all this software, but to judge it! A kind of "who can can make up the best or funniest thing using the computer" kind of contest! If Chris was he he'd win hands down, but alas!

Actually, whether I get around to it today depends on how much sleep I get this morning . I had a rotten night and couldn't get to sleep, and now I'm really groggy.

Thanks! My doctor doesn't give me enough pain meds, so if my back is really hurting, I can't get comfy enough to sleep. But usually by morning I just pass out.

The "payments for stories" story levelled at this Illustrious Media Institution, has clearly been written with a view to Question and Undermine our Methods - cheap shots, one might say. The Scottish DAILY PURIST is known to be a Peurile Salacious Muckracking organization, whose workjing method is hardly better than that of that ghastly "HOBBIT GOSSIP" puffery in fact, and this is clearly evidenced by the quality of its journalism. Oh how disgustingly THE PURIST sticks it's nose into other people's business, and in a most nasty, crabbity fashion; exhibiting all too transparently it's well known bent for putting Truth before Respectability. "The whole idea that I should take money for my story, or have a fancy house purchased on the back of kick-backs for my story, are quite insulting, and nobodies business. As to certain photographs printed Against my Wishes, they prove nothing. Anyone could stand outside a fancy house, and if, by merest coincidence, I happen to be standing with janesmith, a lass who happened to be there at the time, err, trying to get my autograph, well, surely I can't be blamed for that. As to janesmith meeting me... behind her husband's back only five minutes before I was arrested... well, people must think what they will.

And there's a p3 Hobbit lass of the day- and its not just for titillation! Oh no, she always has a comment on the days big political events. Take today's for example where Rosemary, 18, is displayed in Farmer Tolbots hayloft where, whilst mysteriously losing half her clothes she commented, "I think Odo Banks needs to think of others more in this time of recession. How many homeless Scots hobbits could live in that big hole of his? It would certainly clean up the streets of Londonshire."- see educational.

It has come to the attention of the Forumshire Administrator's Office that certain disreputable "private" newspapers have been making accusations against a number of highly well-thought of and influential forumites. Let State News assure you that all such accusations are baseless. Due to an unfortunate misunderstanding one Odo R. Banks, Esq. has recently been detained in the Lockholes, State News can exclusively uncover, but he is being released this evening. A spokeshobbit for the Administrator's Office announced "We have already conferred with Mr. Banks, and all uncertainties have been cleared away. No charges will be filed, and it is our understanding that he will be returning to his comfortable private home. Additionally, recent rumors that Forumshire judges have been taking bribes in exchange for lenient sentences are completely unfounded."

The Administrator himself, Mr. Eldorion of Michel Delving, was unavailable for comment. His aides tell State News that Mr. Eldorion is currently on vacation to Girdley Island. It is not the place of State News to question the announcements of the State, but the streets of Michel Delving have been buzzing with rumors that the Administrator was invited to a Long-Expected second party, at the new home of Mr. Banks, in celebration of his release. Surely the gossip rags will be itching for pictures, but rest assured that State News shall inform you of only serious matters that you are deemed worthy of knowing.

Despite the unprecedented peace and prosperity brought to Forumshire by our glorious Administrator, particularly in light of the tragic collapse of our old home and our costly escape from the Dark Planet, certain malcontent elements persist in being difficulties to our community.
