{{One of my favourite moments in that scene is when Clara goes to ask Danny out the second time after he makes an excuse the first time, he has turned his back to leave and for that brief moment he is not looking at her Clara closes her eyes, and you can mentally see her geeing herself up to just go for it.

{{There is a very important scene in the first episode of the series with regards to Claras' development, where she is confronted by Madame Vastra and for the first time really stands up for herself. Cant find the scene in one bit but here it is broken into three smaller ones.











A central part of the character arc for Clara in series 8 is her coming out her shell and not only as most companions do reaching their full potential, but she does so by becoming more and more like the Doctor.
Her therefore deciding she likes Danny enough upon meeting him to throw caution to the wind is very much a foretaste of what she will become. This is part of her personality and development emerging in its earliest blooming.}}

{{Three names on the go for writers joining Chibnal for series 12. One returning- Ed Hine- who wrote the terrible piecemeal patchwork three different ideas loosely cobbled together It Takes You Away last series.
The two new writers are - Prasanna Puwanarajah and Victoria Asare-Archer. Not much on either really to go on.
Victoria came to attention via a channel 4 diversity writers thing, and has done some CCBC stuff, and has an upcoming comedy feature with Idris Elba on the go, but that's about all I got. And I have even less on him as his main listings are as small part acting roles such as his presumably riveting appearance in the Sarah Jane Adventures as 'Car Salesman'. Writing wise he has two shorts to his name and that is your lot.

I am sure the fact they both hail from ethnic minorities has nothing to do with the decision to hire them. I will venture to say however that the 'messaging' so blatant and front and centre in series 11 and the blatant lack of tv writing experience which destroyed all hope of it being any good does not seem like its going away anytime soon if these two recent choices are any indication. }}

I dont mind the new guys soundtracks so far, in that they are for the most part, bar a few odd choices here and there, functional at least in their general minimalism. But I do miss both the driving nature of the Gold music in the narrative and the epic sweep of it, as well as how he tailored each Doctors theme so well to the character of each Doctor (though in fairness to the new guy he did not have a great deal to work with with 13 and arguably his theme for her is probably the best and most memorable thing about her Doctor so far (though it is woefully underused in the actual series and never I think heard in full- possibly because 13 doesn't do much heroic or epic to warrant it).




and for me it doesn't come close to either the feel or scale  of the 11th Doctor theme, or its utilitarianism for sticking different bits of it for different moods behind scenes whilst still having the audience identify it with the Doctor.

My all time favourite is the Bad Wolf theme.

I like the 13th Dr's theme but she doesn't live up to it does she ? Like the Rock version myself, but then I liked Peter Capaldi, a LOT, & I associate it with him because Ive seen him play guitar

{{Oh Halfy- wishful thinking, I doubt its changed any disagreements over the details- but what it has shown clearly is that whilst all three showrunners, RTD, Moffat and Chibnall have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the show, only RTD and Moffat also had a clear, detailed and certain idea of who they wanted their Doctor to be, the companions, their relationships and what themes they wished to explore.
Its that second part Chibnal seems to lack- there is no sense of coherence, of a plan, of a consistent coherent idea for who 13 is, or the companions, or why any of them are there.
Both RTD and Moffat had definite and particular visions for their version of the show- Chibnal has some vague wishy-washy aims swirling around two buzzwords- inclusivity and diversity- and that's all he's got so far and that's nowhere near enough for Who. }}}}}

I simply don't find that Moffat is worth mentioning.

...and with Chibbers being boring, and not having any episodes is also boring... It's all quite meh. But I am still very glad the Moffat era is over.

Then again, what would a Chib-Moff cooperation look like? RTD+Moff gave us brilliance like Blink. What the best sides and worst sides of each are might they bring out in each other? Thought it might be worth an early morning thought.
