{{ The BBC review was pretty damn scathing, especially for the BBC- }}

" I'm not sure how many fans want to see Indiana Jones as a broken, helpless old man who cowers in the corner while his patronising goddaughter takes the lead, but that's what we're given, and it's as bleak as it sounds."- BBC

Sounds awful. I wont bother watching it. The new John Wick film seems to have a lot of positive reviews so I might watch that instead.

the latest John Wick is pretty good. Now that the actor playing Charon is gone I don't think there could be another, and fortunately this one seemed to be a wrap-up installment anyway.

I assume you've seen the others, Figgy? If not the first one is required viewing.

yep I have seen the first one, and Parabellum, which I found a bit like a computer game that went on for too long. I liked all the characters though and specially the doggie. pale

Is the human character all computer generated? Pretty good, though we only see a section of her face.

Very different kind of role for Russell Crowe. I'd see it mainly for him.

Well this doesn't look good.
And we thought the dwarves in The Hobbit looked bad.

Interesting mix of genres. Animation looks like game CGI.

{{ I shall reserve judgement. Last time Netflix attempted something like this it was laughed out the room for how inaccurate it was. I watched their Hancock Ancient Apocalypse documentary series too, and it was laughably bad as well. So yeah, Netflix and documentaries, somewhat shady. }}

To be fair there are documentaries, and there's the ancient apocalypse genre; and one should not be confused for the other. I quite enjoyed the dramamentary series Ottoman - and there were quite a few times when I was convinced what I saw never happened, only to look it up and find things did indeed occur as portrayed. Netflix covers a wide spectrum, don't judge it by a couple shows.

That being said, I was rather dismayed by the lack of feathered dinosaurs in the trailer. Speilberg (executive producer) knows about feathered dinosaurs and put in a token couple of them in Jurassic Park, though he could never bring himself to make his predators violate the popular image of slathering lizards. His velociraptors should have looked more like ostriches and T-rex should have had a mane of feathers. So it doesn't look like accuracy is their focus on this one.

Rebel Moon is looking good, but begs the age-old question: where did she learn to fight?

For the Chinese movie I have to say I wish they had not gotten into CGI.  China has put out so many amazing looking films that are jaw dropping simply because they did not use any obvious CGI that films using it feel like a let down, no matter how good they look.
