Mmmmmm, I guess I would agree you have a point, but then again, is the run of the mill "same five chords" progression of other pop music all that different? Pop music is a hard genre to be musically peerless in.

(This needs to be heard with speakers and headphones that can transmit the bass properly, otherwise it might sound a bit dull )

I still listen to Acid Rap semi-regularly since I downloaded it when it was new, but I haven't listened to a whole lot else from Chance. Definitely enjoyed this one, though.

Holy shit, that kid!    But you know the way it happened: she was playing around doing imitations, and by the time someone finally heard her she had gotten far enough that they couldn't tell her it wasn't possible.  That's the way it is with kids - they don't know the limitations so can blow adults out of the water if left to their own devices long enough.

Good point in that recording video about young musicians of the last decade or so being able to record and produce music in their own bedrooms. The video itself felt rather like an advertisement for some new music-mixing program. That was an odd feeling.

Anyway, I've been listening to the album "Psycho Tropical Berlin" by La Femme. I like it! Some of the songs almost have a halloween feel to them, but with some surf music guitar action thrown in there and lots of keyboard and high-pitched synth stuff. I don't understand most of the french lyrics, but there's some fun variety on the album, from the Gorillaz-sounding "From Tchernobyl with Love":



to the, it would appear, horror-inspired "Hypsoline":

This video reminds me of the group Dead Man's Bones. Quite the erm... questionable party towards the end.

You had me fast forwarding to the questionable party. Too bad the music isn't as far off the edge as the party...I wouldn't have gotten any of that imagery from it.
