That's some R&B alright! I guess it's interesting that Bruno Mars is producing music in some different genres. I can't say Versace does much for me, but I'm a simple man.

Hm, I think it's kind of goofy, kind of cool, and.. kind of.. instructive

Last night I walked down the street to a place I have been neglecting. A blues band had drawn me there, and they lead guitar warmed up by doing a funky version of Beethoven's Fur Elise then he was doing stuff like this:



Then he took out a harmonica and blew my mind:



I keep saying I want to leave New York, but having stuff like this walking distance from home makes it hard.

I love that, live bands near enough on your doorstep I like the feeling that you can just wander in any old night & there'll be something on. Any style too. Jazz, folk,Rock N Roll

Up here you're basically only going to get Jazz/funk/blues. You have to go to Greenwich Village or Brooklyn to get the full spectrum. But it's still pretty cool to have.

Okay, I have to rant. With all the headlines blowing up about one of Fifth Harmony's singers departing, I thought to myself, I says: "hmm, interesting name, some talented young women doing girl group harmonies or maybe something more innovative."

So I look them up. No harmony at all, not even in the backup instrumentals. Repetitive. Boring. A bit more interesting delivery than hip-hop, but the repetition kills it.

Why did they call themselves Fifth HARMONY? False advertising!

Well I looked up a video, and it's clear it's all in the visuals of young sultry bodies writhing and making eyes. But take away the video and you've got nada, which I wouldn't have realized unless I heard the pure music first.

I've never heard of that group at all!

They're all over the internet news like we're supposed to know and be all bent out of shape that one of the members is cutting loose. That's why I looked them up.

I've always been pissed that Doo-wop went out of style. I'd have preferred to see the rest of the ensemble over those goofy dancing girls.
