Daisy Ridley is the actress playing Rey.
As for everything else Halfy and Figgs are talking about ... I have no idea.

I've got a coworker who took the entire week off just for this movie.

Re: Star Wars [2]
Perhaps they are expecting a crabbit explosion, and don't want to damage anything at work.

Re: Star Wars [2]
The crabbit explosions all shook themselves out during the prequels. I have some hope here: Abrams genuinely cares about the material; he's not going to shove rock music into it and destroy the tone like he did for that other movie.

I think it's going to be...a good blockbuster, nothing more or less...but one pandering to hardcore fans...

Not surprised by that, even though Nolan and THG had been keeping the 2D-only flame alive in recent years. Disney gonna Di$ney, I suppose.
Re: Star Wars [2]
David Lynch should have been the director. Would have been epic.

Re: Star Wars [2]
Well, I've already got my ticket (surcharge and all) for Thursday night at 7 PM, which AFAIK is the earliest possible showing for normal theatres. I'm definitely excited and hoping to love it. More realistically, I think it will at least be an enjoyable blockbuster, though I recognize that that's not guaranteed.
Re: Star Wars [2]
It's on here in about 9 hours.

Re: Star Wars [2]
Thanks Forest! I only got the ticket on Monday but I didn't really expect that either of the local theatres would be among those selling out months in advance.
RLM has been having a field day with Episode VII so far. Can't wait for the Half in the Bag review.

I inadvertently read some spoilers on reddit. So some of the big things have been spoiled for me already. Be careful what sites you visit, what, comment sections you enter, what articles you read, if you don't want anything ruined.

Re: Star Wars [2]
That's the largest percentage of positive reviews I've ever seen.
I read one positive, one negative (made the effort to find it), that's enough. I'll see for myself this weekend.

Re: Star Wars [2]
I'm gonna be treading carefully online for the next 36 hours or so, but I'm pleased to see that it's doing so well in reviews. An 82 on Metacritic as well, which puts it in the "universal acclaim" category by that site's metrics.
http://www.metacritic.com/movie/star-wars-episode-vii---the-force-awakens
Will still judge the movie for myself of course but this is encouraging.

Re: Star Wars [2]
The RT score will probably change over more time as more reviews are added but the top critics score -- as well as the Metascore -- are probably going to stay pretty close to where they are now because they've already added about the number of professional reviews they usually do. At least on Meta.
