Picket fences was good, by the same guy who did Ally McBeal and Boston Legal. He went off the rails in Boston Public - the guy clearly forgot what it meant to be a teenager.

{{Anyone watch the Upstart Crow? I wasnt too sure first series but its grown on me and now its in its third series its hit its stride a bit more.
For those who dont know 'Upstart Crow' was a term used in his day to describe Shakespeare, him being a common player and not of noble or even wealthy stock.
The tv show is basically a sitcom about Shakespeare. It does help if you have some grounding in the period or Shakespeare to catch all the jokes (bit like Blackadder that way, it gets funnier the more history you realise they are ripping the piss out of ).

It doesn't seem to be tripping off the tongue the way it should, feels like they are all stumbling a bit. The whole sonnet thing is some good writing but it sounded forced.

{{Like most sitcoms you have to watch a few to get into its rhythm and characters, took me a while with this one but like I say, it did grow on me. Its no Blackadder, little is, and you have to get very lucky to find someone of Rowan Atkinsons talent- but in comparison to most modern sitcoms, this one at least makes me smile occasionally AND occasionally appreciate a clever bit of word play or history dependent joke. Not surprising as despite no Rowan it shares a main writer with Blackadder- Ben Elton }}

{{Cowboy Bebop is to get a live-action Netflix series- for those who dont know it was a rather good anime series, whose lead you may recognise as having been Eldy's avatar for some time back in the day.

More seriously ... I dunno. I'm sure I'll try at least an episode; hardly a big time commitment. Netflix's live-action Death Note movie last year was pretty bad (though Willem Dafoe would've stolen the movie if he'd been in it for more than, like, five minutes). Adapting Bebop over ten episodes will hopefully allow this new creative team to avoid many of those earlier missteps, but of the few involved names I recognize none engender any particular excitement. Anime to live-action adaptations have a really poor track record, both for adaptations made in Japan and those made in the US, but I'm open to being proved wrong in this case. Just don't particularly expect to be. Razz

I had forgotten there was an animated version. But that preview leaves nothing to be complained about, I feel emotive power in it.

I prefer the animation to be honest. Its all going too artificial ? Peter Rabbit was like this, didn't like that. Im wondering if its because all the intention, tone & emotion has to be stressed in the VOICE but now, its not needed & its all in the computer graphics ? whichever, its not so magical.

Not a fan of the animation style, I must say. A little more artistry and a little less weightless-computer graphics.

I haven't watched the video yet, but why all the bitching abut 2018? Is this the new pastime of wankers everywhere? Complain about the current year? It's really trendy, apparently, to act as though everything is going to pot, even though it obviously isn't.

I've actually seen "everything is terrible, but" as a way to introduce this cutesy post about how someone's daughter is good at writing captions. Get lost idiot!
