I once had that edition of The Hobbit/LotR in a case. It was a special edition back in about 1976 (or thereabouts). I lent FotR to a girl I liked. She didn't give it back. She also broke my heart. (Partly by not giving me back my book... )

I have the very same edition too- my mother gave it to me! Not sure if there was ever a case though!
Awww, Orwell, I'm so sorry! I hate girls sometimes too! Let's hate this girl who broke your heart together!

Though, and Orwell, don't get all sensitive now, I trust you had a cleaner 'image' back then? At the moment you look a little bit scary- no offence!

That ghastly affair changed me. I started writing sad songs. I should send you one of them - though you could always wait for Petty to finish the vid... (if he ever does ) l

I doubt I could read ALice in Wonderland if I got that in my head everytime I read a Cheshire Cat bit- obviously that means by suggesting it and implanting the idea in my head you have totally ruined it for me forever. Bloomin' Queens!

Not my favorite book, but gee there's a lot in it that come to mind when thinking about other things. Works like "Life of Brian" in that way (though I love Brian). Maybe Alice has great bits , but as a narrative leaves much to be desired. I find it, actually, quite nonsensical.

Re: Lolcats thread!
Alice in Wonderland is my favourite book (I actually wrote a whole poem decicated to it a while back! With a verse about the Cheshire Cat too!) but yeah, sometimes it's verging on nonsensical, I guess..

Re: Lolcats thread!
Ah well it's not very good (first verse is blatent steal from one of my favourite all time songs White Rabbit, my version is something like You fall down into a room/there's a drink that makes you small, a door so very tiny, and a cake that can make you tall) but maybe, one day

I repeat: why isn't it on CREATIVE CORNER? {{{{But only if you feel up to it, of course! }}}}
