Wash your mouth out with soap, Ally! (I'm backing you, Tin! But don't stuff it up!)

Not at all Chris, I thought you had written it and wanted to share. Why would I not think you had written it, you are clearly creative and highly intelligent.

I think one day Chris will find all the edits they cut and left in a dark corner of PJs sock drawer. and put them here for us to watch. You know Arwen in Helms Deep, and Tom Bombadil, maybe even photos of Tauriel in her latex bikini and give us all a good laugh, I really need a good laugh.

O Chris, the ultimate troll! I love the way he ironically replied to that, so subtle, so freaking subtle! He's a genius! Or was he being sarcastic?

Re: Tolkien in General
I havent heard the US radio version- I will have to try and track it down.
Interesting that whilst he ranks PJ's as the best adaption (Eru knows how) he gives it almost no space to explain his descision. A case harder to argue the merts of I reckon than just to state thats your position and perhaps that's why.

Re: Tolkien in General
He did explain enough why he preferred PJ's version to understand what he meant, it would take pages to lay it all out. He said PJ fixed the character problems that bothered him, like Aragorn being made more human. A matter of personal taste, not argument.
I for one eventually forgave the film makers for "Filmamir" simply because I had a hard time imagining any current actor doing the book version justice. The only actor I think may have been able to pull Faramir off would have been.... .....wait for it..... .....Denzel Washington. Any other actors with sufficient gravitas are too near the grave to play the part if not already in the grave. I would have happily accepted Denzel not looking Numenorian in exchange for the performance of a lifetime.
