That, has got to be the most painful act of pure love Ive ever seen so far ! Its heart breaking. And some fooking w*****s think animals are dumb bags of fur ??????? If I ever had a love like that Id think myself VERY privileged & honoured !

Yeah, they follow you from room to room, but they suffer so when you have to leave them behind. My brother's dog will climb into the car and plant herself there even an hour ahead of time if she gets any inclination he's about to leave. Has some sort of sixth sense about it and will *not* be left behind. He has to peel her out limb by limb if she can't come, it can be quite an operation.

Yeah, the role dogs play in family dynamics and how dogs and human seems to solve a lot of group dynamic things similarly is really something special.
They do literally become part of the family.
They do literally become part of the family.

We have a friend of the family who has a bunch of dachsunds and they're so sweet.
My dog's half Dachsund/Jack Russell, we got her from a shelter at 10 months, (she's nearly 9 now) and we think she was bullied by another dog or mistreated by her old owners as even now she's terrified of loud noises, and very temperamental with other dogs, but she's an absolute softie when she wants to be, though she doesn't like being left on her own, she's certainly full of character and very proctective-you know how they say Dogs have a sixth sense? I think her's in being able to tell when you open the kitchen cupboards (she loves rice crispies for some reason ) unfortunately she's getting a touch of arthritis so we have to carry her up/down stairs sometimes, but I'm convinced some of the time it might just be laziness on her part
Our last Dog lived to 18, and other she seems in good health so I hope we have her a few more years yet
Dogs may be a pain in the arse at time, but they are wonderfullly loyal, expressive pets, and I'd certainly take them over a cat...sneaky buggers

I just can't figure out what would make dogs do that.

There's a great full video that goes with that vine. You feel the second dog is being tormented by watching the first dog lick away, and then the cone is moved over with a something along the lines of "and...that's why Lucy gets hers last".
