This is the full program for the nationals. See if there is anything halfy. I have been @work here in Bergen since 8 o'clock and will not be done until 8 or 9 this evening. I'm going to this festconcert after work, and then this big party called brassnight. I think it will be fun!
AMA!!
Sounds fun, Huff. You'll definitely deserve a party after working those working hours. So, make sure to enjoy yourself.

I don't always like Kanye's more experimental stuff, but that was pretty good I thought.
Yeah, it's an odd mix of styles and influences, but it turned out pretty cool.
Apparently it was a proper collaboration between Kanye and the guy behind Bon Iver, Justin Vernon, too. And after that song they went on to co-produce 10 more, 2 of which also appeared on that Kanye album. And all that came out of Kanye calling Justin to tell him he wanted to sample his song. Fun when people from different lines of music mix like that.

Mainly seems relatively modern, or modern riffs on historical themes. Could be interesting.
I notice a lot of "norsk tipping" scattered through the program. Is that more like waiter tipping, or cow tipping? I wasn't aware of the importance of tipping in Nordic lands, need to brush up on my cultural anthropology.

The "norsk tipping" is the official (and legal) betting tv-program/company we have in Norway. They sponsor a lot of events.

Yeah, that would be tip as in, "I would tip him to win." Tipping means betting in norwegian.

Here is a restoration of The Beatles recording studio take of "Across The Universe" as a band during the Get Back/Let It Be sessions.

Does that first line say "Everybodies talking 'bout"?
If so the answer clearly is not 'give peace a chance' but 'kung-fu fighting'

A clear example of plagiarism.
Note the "bannisters" though, it's good to have a Goon Show reference in a pop songs.

This might be one of the weirdest live shows I've ever seen. Pretty cool though. And really good.

Hah, I always find it funny how different those songs sound without the Phil Spector production. Like the Long and Winding Road.
Phil Spector:
The Beatles original (without the orchestra, or the choir. I quite like the orchestra, the choir is completely over the top though. ):

Re: Music [3]
The difference is like chalk & cheese, & I prefer the original. Specters version sounds as tho it should be used for a film, hence the 'angelic' choir ? which as you say is way over the top

Re: Music [3]
Yeah. Though Paul Mccartney apparently hated the Spector version so much he tried to have it stopped from being released. And his inability to control which form his song came out in was probably part of the reason for his giving up in the band.
Though I guess it had to do with the timing too. While Paul Mccartney had some of his best songs from the Beatles era on the Let it be album, the only interesting Lennon song, Don't let me down, was left off the album. (That was a pretty big travesty in itself.)
So the others cared a lot less for the album, I think. John Lennon went as far as saying, about Spectors producton, "He was given the shittiest load of badly-recorded shit with a lousy feeling to it ever, and he made something of it."
