Makes two of us Mrs Figg- mine burst, flooded me with poson- got me on the operating table with less than an hour of life left in me.

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone. We had considered that possibility last night, Mrs Figg, cause that is the area in which it hurts. If it keeps hurting I might go to the hospital just to get it checked out. I don't have a fever and I still have my appetite though, which I consider to be good signs.

get it checked out Eldo, its better not to wait, mine rumbled for months and then suddenly one night while I was eating a curry I was sick and I felt terrible I knew the shit had well and truly hit the fan, it was nearly burst, and I was lucky I didnt get poisoned, it took me ages to feel ok again, only because it had gone on too long, it really is a routine op when its caught early, and for a young and healthy person like yourself, in a couple of days you would feel perfectly normal, its a bit like having a tooth out the thought is worse than the practice. Its tempting to let it go on, but take it from me its better to grasp the nettle, its probably just wind or something bland, but you dont know yet. dont worry just sort it.

I know how you feel Petty its horrible stuff, moral of the story, dont wait, get it sorted. btw was it a long time ago it happened to you, for me it was six years ago.

I was ten. Problem was it bursting, when it did that outwardly I seemed to be getting better and restfully sleeping, I was of course being put to sleep by the poison. But because I had seemingly fallen asleep my parents decided they would get the Doctor in the morning. I would have been dead by then except a strange thing occured.
Earlier in the day my mother had been on the phone to her mother and told her I was unwell, thinking I had picked up a stomach bug. A few hours after that my Gran says she got an awful feeling and she decided she was coming to see me. She lived seventy miles and a train and a ferry journey away. She just caught the last boat and no more, as it was a Sunday and the boats dont sail after 6. She arrived. Took one look at me and got my mum to call out the doctor. He took one look at me and ordered me taken straight to the local hospital. There was neither time for an ambulance nor surgeons as it turned out.
I was put in a neighbours car and driven immediately with the doctor driving just ahead- he performed the surgery himself. So I am one very lucky human. And very grateful to several people not least my Gran for being here at all to chat with you lovely folk.
Only part of it that saddens me at all is I know my mother to this day is haunted by it and how, in herview, she failed me. If her mother had not come down I would have died. But there is of course no blame to be had. There were plenty reasons, not least being a harassed mother of two boisteorus boys, it being a Sunday and I seemed to be finally getting some unpained rest. And everyone can simply get something wrong. If I could change anything about it it would be that. Oh dear buckie melancholy. Better drink a lot more....we apoligise for this interuption to your normal service....crabbit levels will be restored to normal shortly......

But that is an emotive story. I've been thinking along similar lines these past couple of months, about life and loved ones etc

Thats a very sad but yet mysterious story, I am sad for your mum and obviously you, it shows there is some kind of instinct or sixth sense that we all must have, call it what you will, or maybe its more than that, maybe its something outside us guiding us. It is odd though, how she knew. It must have been terrible for all of you.
It was probably the third worst experience of my life when it happened to me, the first being my mum dying and the second being a miscarriage. I once had an instinct that saved my life, still cant explain it, but never underestimate your instincts, follow them, they rarely let you down.

That's an incredible story, Petty. You were extremely lucky. I mean, what if the ferry didn't go. It is odd how all things are knit togehter and all seem like coincidences. Yeah, and that sixth sense or call it what you want. My mom knew she was going to have twins long before the doctors could tell.

I am reliably (but its the NotP, so unreliably) informed there will in fact be a brand spanking new issue this Sunday full of the latest gossip, erm I mean news. In fact I have it on good (drunken) authority that you yourself, a certain Mayor and a nefarious Forumshire hobbit lad feature in an expose! Along with an indepth investigation into the mysterious disappearence of Admin Consort Baingil. So I hear anyway.

I was expecting the promised NotP on Sunday but got zilch.

I went to have a wander past Bree the other day and it looks cold wet and deserted, poor old Bree I remember happy nights in the Prancing Pony with a nice pint of old wineyards and some pipeweed talking to Stu and Todd and Jana, Bill and Barndog, Joel, Nora and Kendalf. Its quite sad really.

You will be waiting a long time Mrs Figg for the NotP.
The NotP is a product of the nation I am forbidden to bang on about Mrs Figg- I said it would get bland round here- but if there is to be no mention of certain alcoholic bevearges, items of clothng worn by men with the outward appearence of skirts, or anything else satirizing my roots and taking the mickey out my nation then I am afraid things like the NotP, the DP and the Annual Forum Awards are things of the past. They are all a part of the same thing.

And I still pop by Bree from time to time to try to stir some life into the locals- I thnk its been struck by a curse however.

geez I didnt ban you from being Scottish did I? I like your kilt and have commented on its unhygenic under side many times. Dont get in a huff about one little comment, it was only in the heat of battle we say such stuff. I was joking, you know nobodies perfect, apart from you Haggis munchers. So come on dont be silly get your caber out and give the girls a laugh.

Its all about fun Mrs Figg- takes several hours to put an edition together- if it is no longer feels like fun I cant do it- when I tried didn't feel fun so no issue. Really was that simple.
No doubt it will again start to feel fun in time and I will go back to making them.
