Good game, especially from KC.  I think we still have a shot in the series, but right now, I feel like I don't want to watch any baseball again. Sooooooooooooooo tired.

I still lke the concept of a sports team named after a cookie, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Well Los Angeles has a hockey team named after a Disney movie, so I guess it's not that much of a stretch.

I wish the O's had won at least one game, but KC played great and I have no hard feelings for them. I like their narrative this season and if the Orioles hadn't been in this I would have started rooting for the Royals by now. Plus, I don't want us to have lost to anyone less than the best.

Q. Why does the pitcher throw in some games , but not in others ?

Q. Does a pinch runner or batter stay in the game or does the guy he replaced come back in ?

My understanding is that pitchers are substituted so frequently because throwing a 90+ mph fastball is murder on your arm muscles and tendons and they need the recovery time.

As for substitutions, there's no limit to how many players you can replace, but once pulled, they can't return for the rest of the game. So a pinch hitter or runner has to take up a defensive position in the next inning in place of the guy he replaced, or else he himself has to be substituted out.
