Re: The Hobbit Parody Part 1
Well it's a bit immature, with the "coming" joke and what-not. And although the "What do you mean, gay?" fits rather well into Gandalf's pedantic (or grumpy) banter with Bilbo, I'm not certain that it isn't too insensitive of the fact that Ian McKellen actually is gay.
I don't know, I'm really immature myself often enough, but it made me slightly uncomfortable what with combining Russian politics and Tolkien.
It was funny, certainly. You did a good job overall working Bilbo's facial responses into your invented dialogue. Keep up the work I guess!
I would call these people the masters when it comes to Tolkien-based film mis-dubbing:

Okay, I laughed at the "Wait Frodo! Uh, I mean Bilbo." But that's the kind of dumb thing I would laugh at.

Yes I laughed plenty of times. Dumb things usually are best for laughing.bungobaggins wrote:Okay, I laughed at the "Wait Frodo! Uh, I mean Bilbo." But that's the kind of dumb thing I would laugh at.
One of my favourite bits from the Bakshi dub, for example, is a short scene wherein Gollum attempts to impress the hobbits with his rap skills. Afterwards he is saddened by the lack of enthusiasm. "That was my one big chance to be a rapping star... And I blew it!"
It's kind of dumb, but it's great. If you can co-opt the story-line in such a way that you set up ongoing ideas or jokes of your own over a longer period of time, it would work better. A minute and a half is not very long.

You also score big points in my book if you don't jump right into "lol the gayz!" type jokes.

Guys I really appreciate the feedback! I know Ian Mckellen is gay and that he is against the anti gay law in Russia, so the parody will rather be a means to fight the sillyness of that anti gay law;)
BTW, have you guys seen Theoden, Horsemaster? It was a huge hit back in 2004, we Team Lorio made it! I promise it doesn't contain any gay jokes!

Re: The Hobbit Parody Part 1
It was alright. I liked the range of voices. Comedically it was so-so in my opinion.
The Casino Royale with Cheese video was rather promising. I had really hoped for some kind of Pulp Fiction joke, but the continued "...Perfect" Bond responses worked quite well!
I'm not the biggest fan of using crude animation (basic animation, that is) to move the mouths of still-framed film characters however. Dubbing is better for sure.

The second part is here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT7q5HipWK0
Hope you guys enjoy this second part a little better:) We are trying to make clear that the anti gay law in Russia is absurd (that is the main point eventually).
Feedback is very welcome!
