wassup with youtube posting?

Having problems posting youtube videos. Used to be you'd put the entire url in youtube brackets, but that doesn't work. Then bungo seemed to make it work by posting the internal code (a bunch of letters and numbers) but that doesn't seem to work either.

So somebody who knows how to do it please break it down for us. Step by step.

Oh, you actually have to use the youtube button, then it changes it for you.

No, I'm totally against black box automation. Should be able to take a code off the url and type stuff in. Oh well - another retreat and yielding of control to The Machine.

Hm, I was trying it right now with the youtube box thing and it wasn't working.

Maybe the embedding service Forumotion uses is having some issues?   

Seems to be working with some videos, but not with others.   

I am having the same problems. weird. vids wont embed or whateveryoucallit.

I havent had probs with Utube but, Ive had problems in the past with posting emoticons ?

This post is a test to see if the youtube video that I had a problem with the other day will work.

I haven't noticed any problems yet.
I'm leaning toward this being the result of governmental interference.

Huh.  Normally I paste the entire URL in, but this time, the only embed that actually worked was using bungo's method of pasting only the specific video code.  I tried this with a couple different videos and got the same result.  I've never seen anything like this before.  I'll try to investigate tomorrow when I'm more awake (I only got back home like an hour ago after being out all day).

Edit: with further videos, sometimes none of the types of embedding worked.  I have had issues with this function before, but I'm struggling to see any rhyme or reason to it right now. Not that there necessarily is one at all, but if there is, I'm more likely to miss it tonight.

I noticed in the "Future releases" thread Chris had the same problem that I did.

The one that I tried to post, and the one that Chris tried to post both have an underscore in the video's code. I'm thinking that has something to do with it not working.

When i preview my post it works, when i send it it don't

Yeah, seems to be. Sometimes things that break for no apparent reason will start working again for no apparent reason. Hopefully it will last; if not I'll do some digging around and see if I can come up with anything.

Why can't i send pictures gifs or anything. My post reply box is just blank. Has been for the last 2 days

It's working fine for me, Chris. There's probably just a cyberweasel gnawing on the insides of your 'puter.

 In the mean time, if you copy/paste the image location into the message like the one you just sent, then type  [img_] (without the underline) before it and [/img] after it, it should post pictures and GIF's just fine.

(I'm prone to cyberweasels myself from time to time  )
