Re: "The Hobbit's Doomed" Saloon
Bars are good places to get drunk and tell true stories that sound unlikely, this news story a friend drew my attention to seems to fit the bill;
'A MAN caught fire Wednesday evening inside a San Francisco porn store and was fighting for his life in the hospital after suffering third-degree burns, KCBS-TV reported.
Arson experts said it was not clear what ignited the fire but police said the man had been watching videos in a private booth when the blaze erupted.
The man ran out the front door of the adult arcade "engulfed in flames" and was spotted by police standing across the street, a police spokesman told KCBS.
"He came out of the building already on fire," Lt. Kevin McNaughton said.
Firefighters, who luckily were only about a block away on an unrelated call, raced to the scene and doused the flames.'
And I thought the worst that could happen was you went blind or strained your wrist!

Re: "The Hobbit's Doomed" Saloon
Well, on a similar topic, (a much more depressing one, though) a friend of mine goes to an arts school, and one day, a kid set himself on fire in an act of suicide and ran down the hall. My friend saw it, and says it didn't really affect him. I don't think it really processed in his mind, but I couldn't help thinking of Denethor. What could drive someone to the point of killing themselves so painfully?

Re: "The Hobbit's Doomed" Saloon
Don't think theres an answer for that even at the bottom of a buckie bottle Tin. I'm in favour of assissted suicide for those who are terminally ill and incapitated by their illness and have soberly and clearly made the choice and held to it for a period of time. But when its done in desair or sorrow thats a different matter. The mind is a tricky thing and there is nowhere more torturous than its depths. Pass the buckie Tin.

Buckie, sadly, could very well be a contributor to suicide, but only if it's a depressant, that is...

Though, it would depend on how much. And in these troubling times, how much is too much?

Coming back to this thread makes me miss Tin. Hoping for an Ally-like reappearance.

Wasn't Tin the one with the perfect nose?
Plus, by posting this I momentarily and childishly "own" the Middle-Earth section, as far as the noting of "Last Posts"
is concerned.
HA!

{{ Impressive stuff Elthir, especially confining your spamming to the lore sections- very appropriate and respectable, Odo would approve }}

Speaking of which, it's been an awfully long time since we've heard from either Odo OR Orwell.
