Re: CUISINE
bumping this thread because food is glorious and oh look the last post here was on my birthday!!
anyway, i have just had dinner and we had fried cod-tongue. i was wondering if someone else has tried it and/or if it's normal to eat outside of Norway (mainly northern Norway)

Re: CUISINE
Cod yes, lovely deep fried in batter, but not specifically cod tongue.
Isn't it a bit of a small meal?

Re: CUISINE
I've tried it, and it tasted like cod :lol:Not particularly fond of cod, though. It's either too salty or too.. fishy

Re: CUISINE
cod-tongue is actually really good, they're not too salt at all, but yeah they taste fish ofcourse. but i'd say they taste more than "normal" cod.
Re: CUISINE
Is it blubbery, or rubbery like squid? Fish tongues look kinda rubbery.
That does look tasty fried in batter mind you!

Re: CUISINE
Cods tounge... Nein, (That's no, not nine, by the way.) can't say I have. I don't think it's a thing here.
It loks rather nice though, and here's me guessing it probably is as well.

Well, now I'm jealous.
Not really. Oh, all right, a little bit. Though not like that.
It's meant to be a delicacy, right?

Not in a shaking of the head sort of manner. In a loving caring "Oh, that sounds wonderful. Hm, I wouldn't mind that." sort of way.
(Is it even possible to be jealous in a loving caring sort of way? Well, I guess I've just said it is.)
What did you think I meant?

We were talking about this earlier and I thought I'd repost it, as they have just gotten around to sending it on fjordlandian television. (Only 3 years after it was actually released. )

you're weird. remember you're writing and the thought behind doesn't always come through.Bluebottle wrote:Norc wrote:"though not like that?"

i had no idea what you were trying to say, that's why i asked. because you wrote i quote:
"Well, now I'm jealous.
Not really. Oh, all right, a little bit. Though not like that. ."
and we were talking about fish tongues, of course i had no idea what you meant.
and how are there more ways to be jelous? and i didn't know there was "good" and a "bad" way of being jelous. like what is being jelous in a shaking of the head sort of way and in an that's sound wonderful sort of way? it makes no sense, blue..
Re: CUISINE
Oh, I was just being silly. Generally I guess it's a thing you say to make someone feel good about something nice that has happened to them. Knowing someone is jealous might make it seem a bit more special, I don't know, but seemingly it only annoys you.
It's sweet of you to get so annoyed though.
True true. Though that goes both ways of course. This for instance..
wasn't necessarily an "of course" for me.
Wouldn't you say there's a difference though, between the jealousy you feel towards someone you don't particularily like and the small twinge you may feel when something nice happens to one of your friends? Though that might very well be a difference in degree and not in quality. Or maybe it's the emotion the jealousy is mixed with, wether that be resentment or friendliness or something else. I think I would say there are different ways.
That's what I meant, anyway.
