Fire and Ice- nothing special story wise- rips off everything from LotR's to Star Wars- but if youve an interest in cinema animation its worth a look as it used the precursor to motion capture, rotoscoping to superb effect.
A collaboration between Bakshi (who brought us LotR on film) and Frazzetta, whose fantasy art is world famous.

Fan film based on a Dredd comic, but not really featuring Dredd, more of in Dredd's world- the tale of Judge Minty.

I watched 12 Monkeys last night with my dad and my brother. It was pretty bizarre. A good movie, but not one I feel in a hurry to return to (though it would probably make a lot more sense on rewatch). It was cool seeing all sorts of locations in Baltimore and Philadelphia that I recognize from real life, though. Very Happy

Watched Fast and Furious 6 over the weekend. Really one where you have to flick the 'suspension of disbelief' up to 11. Although 11 didnt quite do it for the climax where the runway must have been about 40 miles long... and I am not exaggerating when I say that.

I'll get to it later. After work, and then after I get over a street judge named "Minty". Sounds like a croquet club nickname.

Its typical of the naming of stuff in the original comics, which were usually satirical, silly, funny or all three.
For example Dredd originally resided in a Mega Block called - Rowdy Yates Block- Rowdy Yates was a character in TV show Rawhide, played by Clint Eastwood, whose Dirty Harry was an influence on Dredd's character.
Some were spookily accurate, such as The Ronald Reagan Block Home for Dementia (written when Reagan was still President), Peach Trees- the Block in the latest film version is named after a cafe of the same name where Wagner (creator and writer) met with Garland (film screenwriter) to discuss the film.
They probably named Judge Minty after a toothpaste or something.

Hope its huge cinema, and with a huge screen 'cause otherwise that would crap, huge cinema and tiny screen. Mad
From what I hear its main selling point is the wow factor.

Very impressive for a fan film. I can't believe how much time and money must have been spent on it. Incredible amount of money, actually. scratch Where did it come from?

Far as I know they just id it themselves- I remeber seeing the trailers for it years ago, and had filed it away under nice ideas that never got going due to beig to expensive to do, and then I just stumbed across the finished thing when I was looking for an interview on the latest Dredd film.
Its a shame however it starts with Minty finishing off the gang though and doesnt include the lead up busts to it which are very funny in a Dredd sort of way, like when he hands out 30 years in the cubes for drug smuggling to a guy when they find flakes of tobacco under his carpet.
