Argentina and Switzerland on now, but I'm nervous with anticipation for the US' game in a few hours. Belgium is (relatively) one of the weaker opponents we could have hoped to face in the Round of 16, but they're still stronger than us so it's a bit of a long-shot. If we win, though, it will equal the US' best performance in the World Cup since returning to international soccer in 1990.

Not a classic first half in the Arg-Swiz game.

Looking forward to the US game though.

Eldo - Belgium shouldn't be a walkover. They have some very good players that ply their trade in the big leagues. I would argue that they have one of top 5 first teams in the world on paper.

Courtois is a quality goal keeper. Not sure if they will have a first choice back four with Kompany and Vermaelen recently injured, but with Dembele and Vertonghen they have a great back line.

Fellaini looks much more comfortable playing an attacking role rather than the defensive midfielder that he seemed to be at Man United. De Bruyne is good, Lukaku is good and they have one of the best players in the Premier League in Eden Hazard.

What they haven't had though is a tough test. The USA have had a few and they are still there... there is a lot to say for that when they chips are down!

Should be a good battle unlike the bloody Swiss earlier.

Yeah that was a pretty dire game.

Still on to the next and not long now till the US game.
As you say Lance, a tough gig for the Americans this one.

Mad

An interesting game- Belgium are the better team but the US are dangerous on the counter attack.

The epitome of an exciting, fascinating 90 minutes of football, without a single goal scored.

Well played by Belgium. We just couldn't deliver on the scoring end. Howard played a great game but he was tired by the end.

Unlucky USA- that was a cracking game, very open.
What Belgium had in technical and passing skill over America, the Americans had heart and effort galore to make up for it, they chased everything and fought to the death- very impressed by their attitude.
Thats the best of the knock out matches so far I reckon.  Nod USA
