thanks I still think the boys turned out the best, and I'm kind of really digging how Amarië turned out. But there is something about the lines on the women, i think i might work on them, they are not as "hard" or .. rough. It might suit them better, but I like to keep the style. Mrs Figg is a bit out of propotions, but I was so sick of drawing just the one angle, I might re-do her, but idk yet.

Mrs Figg's eyes are a bit high on her head but that's the only thing that seems weird to me. I agree that the Amarie portrait turned out really well.

yeah, as I said out of propotions, the eyes should be on a line with the ears you see, i can leave it like that, though when all the rest of them are strickly in propotions it's kind of weird, she ends up too cartoony.

Also Agent Nora, she was rather tricky, and when i started I thought her face was meeh.. but then when I had finished it, it kinda grew on me and i quite like it now, it's a bit wonky, yet kind of pretty, arent we all wonky

also, i re-fixed them up a bit (contrasts and such) so they would flow better together with the boys

Norc:- your pictures are really character descriptive ! I think they are great. The faces fit the characters as I have read the stories !

Loved the ambassador, especially the look in her the eyes. Figg has a really flowing, feminine and strong look. Perfect. (In my head she is a slightly less cartoony version of Jessica Rabbit.)

Nora's eyes reminds me of my friend Rose.

I don't know if you've tried this, but if you turn the drawing upside down or look at it in the mirror it's easier to see what is 'wrong'.

I am so happy you liked the ambassdor, i wanted her to have a kind of terrifying, dominant look, like she has everything under full view and yeah Jessica Rabbit are my thoughts precisly on Figg, the one I drew now I like better, I'll post it tonight. The hair is better too

the upside down trick, yes i know. When you turn it you stop seeing the face and you just see lines. You should try to draw portraits that way Am, or start with something a bit simpler, like a simple line-art. You flip it upside down and your brain stops recognising what you are supposed to draw, a person an face whatever, and you avoid going into the traps of drawing what you always do, like what your image of a face is. You just see lines and where they are placed and such try it, it's quite fin. after a couple of times you clearly can see the progress, promise. It's a trick my mom uses with her art class. I did it when I started doing portraits

That is brilliantly simple and simply brilliant. I can do portraits fairly/tolerably well if I have something to look at. And time... and a place to work...

I had a few portraits hanging on the side of my wardrobe at mom&dads. After I moved out my room (kjellarstue) became a guest bedroom, which is where my sister and hubby stays when they are visiting. He had to take them down because they were looking at him and he couldn't sleep. "It's not that they aren't good, I think perhaps they are too good!" I laughed and took it as a compliment.

that is hillarous, I had a poster of trè cool from green day and he stared at me with these freaky eyes i had to take it down. Now I have lots of cumberbatch portraits hanging around.

but seriosly, try that teknique and show us the result, it's amazing how it progresses, because the brain is forced to think outside the box.

Pick me someone to draw and I'll have a go. I grabbed my sketchbook yesterday, and just stared blankly at it. Then looked forever for my folder with posters from way back when and couldn't find it anywhere, so it may be in the barn with the moving boxes that never made it into the house, which again means I haven't drawn a portrait for 8 or so years (besides the one of my nephew).

i know, this isn't me and it is someone elses artwork so it may not be completely ethical, but the lines are very clear here and the colouring^^ but it is a kinda good start, then turn it upside down.. it'll work wonders.. magic
