Occording to their site the new paramount mountain is terragen as are the landscapes in the Cruise film Oblivion and the new Superman- their procedural clouds used there too.

The Terragen 3 screenshots look amazing, but how long would those take to render without an industrial-strength render farm at ones disposal?

Well the good news is I have the outputted animations files- although it wasnt near finished yet.
The bad news is many of the resources- object models, peoples avatars- that it needs to continue went with the other drive and NotP stuff and the rest of the forum stuff.  
Im trying not to think about it.

Petty, why in the name of purple flicking fuck is it that everytime I go into gimp and use the color picker tool (eye dropper), I select a color, then when I go to paint brush the color reverts to black.
Why? WHY?! It always takes me 20 minutes I can't spare to figure it out again and drives me into an absolute rage. I shouldn't have to figure out something so obvious.

Oh hell, never mind. I was looking at the pen size icon, not the pen color.  

Petty, I am sure the avatars can be found. I have copies of mine, or you can google the 'library faerie' + 'neopets' and find at least two of them. (Wrong eye colour though, mine are blue.)

Hey Petty, I have nearly all of my avatars saved as well as a couple other avatars that I liked or helped make, so let me know if I can help you out with that.

use Photoshop instead  

Halfy the short answer is I dont know - I installed gimp on this laptop and it doesnt do that when I use the colour picker  Sorry Halfy.

On the plus side it made me install GIMP to find out for you- and then I needed a pic to try it on- and the first one that was to hand on this laptop was one from last time I had to use it- Amarie's Birthday NotP from last year (or possibly year before!)-

so I had this pic-



and by using only the smudge tool and nothing else beyond increasing saturation and contrast a little when I finished, it turned into this-

Just used the smudge tool to, well, smudge it, into an impressionistic evening skyscape.
Only took about ten minutes too.
