Not that I'm complaining, a deserved victory, but did I miss something (always quite possible) or have you filed this under the 'more' bit of the thread title (normally of course I wouldn't care but after Eldo's recent (and welcome but slightly girly ) bit of housekeeping I thought I should say something.

Nice to see The Lord of the Rings at #1, but where is The Hobbit? As much as I enjoyed The Silmarillion, I think The Hobbit deserved to be on that list far more. Quite a cool list, though; and interesting to read through.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Sometimes I think we'd do fine with just one thread for everything

Some of those books probably won't be there down the track. Anything under twenty years old has not had a chance to stand the test of time. Petty, maybe The Hobbit was seen as being part of LotR. PJ thought it was, apparently. It's what can happen when you speed read or skim.

I have often wondered about that myself! It would certainly save time catching up with things. And as some conversations seem to get all multithreadal, it sometimes would be nice to get a "linear" view of things! (I blame Petty mostly).
