no joke, all true, though it wasn't porn, it was a movie sort of thing. Also, I ended up sitting between two boys I never speak to and behind me sat the teatcher who was old enough to be my grandpa. And while I am happy to step down and put my soapbox back under the bed, please look at what you posted to begin with. (The polystyrene dick evoked all sorts of images!) I had every right to be disturbed by it. I think a lot of young (or old) females may have been concerned by how you first depicted the scene - both the movie and your seating arrangements! - not just venerable gentlehobbitsses like me!

Not sure what the fuss is abouit here- we had similar stuff 25 years ago- only difference was the film was a badly drawn cartoon- same idea- raise the topic, discuss the implications. And the teacher was more embarrassed than the students.

Exactly so. We old people - no matter how naughty we might be ourselves (especially any Scotshobbits here) - should still look out for the youngun's, whether they want lookin' out for or not.

Fair enough then. I'm a bit touchy with ideas like young girls (or boys!) being made to watch pornography placed between members of the opposite sex by ignorant older people who sit directly behind said young person. I like to know what's going on. As to 'being awkward - Well, I think immediately of grading: from severe awkwardness (to a possible VERY vulnerable level) and mild awkwardness (which has next to no potential for upset or permananent emotional problems). My touchiness pivots mostly on the idea of 'making' people do things that put them in a 'vulnerable' position. Of course, through further conversation, we discovered that Norc had no cause (in her own mind) to feel anything except 'mild' awkwardness. I still would be putting careful thought into things if I was arranging things as they were myself, in spite of Norc's escape from anything but 'mild' (harmless?) awkwardness. I have a daughter (and son) you see!

I dont think a school sex ed video designed to raise debate about sexuality in the classroom is pornography.
Its a hell of a lot healthier in my opinion that some of the TV (here anyway- Hollyoaks anyone?) aimed at teens where a threesome is nothing and there is little if anything in the way of raising issues addressing them.

Its fine to say that sort of thing shoud be left to parents- but many parents for a variety of reasons dont sit down with their children to openly discuss these things- and in a world of sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancy surely the governemnt has a duty to provide that information? (after all its the tax payers who pick up the tab for it)
