You were doing well there leelee, right up till 'like your brother.'
But dear Pretty, Petty IS pretty. I mean you look so much alike, one could almost think you are one and the same!

I have no idea what you're talking about, Leelee. It almost sounds as if you're suggesting that some of our members could secretly be the same person!
Re: Complaints [2]
Disgusting! Disgusting thing to suggest leelee. And probably illegal.

Why is it the Lord of Forumshire can't spot a spam run when it's in progress and has to try to spoil it.

Re: Complaints [2]
Okay, here's my complaint. I work on a computer, and need you folks as a quick distraction. However, most of you folks are on a European schedule and are either non-responsive when I'm feeling chatty, or chatty when I really need to get stuff done. The Aussies start yapping around midnight and go quiet when I wake up.
We do have some Americans, but Eldo is in college and seems to actually plan to do something with his life, so isn't on all the time, Dave is out farming in a different time zone so only checks in early morning or late night, and Tin does seem to have a real life.
Petty is my only salvation most times. God bless him. But why can't the rest of you start living in a bucky barrel?

Re: Complaints [2]
I was kinda wondering about your posting Norc. In school?! During class no doubt. As a former teacher I simply cannot condone that behavior! (but as a former student I also knew only about 1/3 of attention was on the teacher anyway. Especially when the teacher was talking. )

My mind boggles at how even more mispsent my youth would have been had it included the ability to read, watch and listen to stuff anywhere.
It cant be for the good you know.

I sometimes wish I had more time to waste here - one should never underestimate the benefits of wasting time! - and there's shiftwork on top of things --- and extra responsibility at work at the moment --- yes, bossing people around is fun, of course, but it's not all beer and whippings, now I'm having to look up words like "accountability" and "responsbility" and "leadership" --- I remember more innocent times...

Norc wrote:I also draw alot in class...
A few years back I drew a comic strip in the back of one of my notebooks during class for about a semester. This was before I got into the habit of bringing a laptop to class and in retrospect it was probably the start of me not always paying attention to the professor. The comic strip was called SUPER-MONK and it was about a Catholic monk who got superpowers after eating a centuries-old holy wafer. He then travelled around the world defeating the enemies of the Church. In the first arc he defeated a German Cardinal who had defected to Protestantism and in the second arc he went to Russia to fight the Orthodox Church and the reanimated corpse of Rasputin. I didn't finish that arc though because the semester ended and I stopped carrying the notebook around.
I got really positive reviews from all the people who sat next to me in class who I showed the comic too, but my family (about half of whom are or were Catholic) were not nearly as amused. Also, I suck at drawing.
Re: Complaints [2]
I did a cartoon called "Vicious Bird" when I was about twenty. Can't draw of course, but now and then I look at it and am quite impressed. I must have always known that full on imagination and a total disrespect for "respectability" are wonderful things --- even if the pictures themselves are naive. (God is a badly drawn tiger in a badly drawn wheelchair, don't remember why - don't care... hee hee...)
Must say, Eldo, your cartoon sounds incredibly out-there, and probably Freudian - and refreshingly fresh too... Well done!

holy shit, you drew a comic strip?! wow! And the story seems great mind posting the strip here? I don't believe you when you say you can't draw, everyone can, and if you made a comic, then i bet you can draw.
